Chapter 20 The message arrived at dawn. I woke to the shrill vibration of my phone on the nightstand, the screen glowing like a warning. My pulse quickened before I even read the words, as if my body already knew. > “Midnight. The quarry. Bring him.” No signature. None needed. My heart lurched.
