Chris’ PoV ~ 6 years after the encounter ~ Over the past few years, a lot has changed, now I'm 20 years old along with my underground pack known as one of the strongest and most deadly wolf packs on earth known as the Midnight Pack. Our identity and location are not known in public, outsiders only know of our undercover names but not our real one unless if we told them or used them during our mission but since we always change our identity, it’ll be hard for anyone to even find us or know who we are. To others, our pack are basically a mystery, a place that are thought to be non-existent since we don’t contact other pack houses, forming treaties or making allies.

Twelve wolves, just as the scout had said. They were cloaked in dark leathers, their posture unreadable, their expressions neutral. I scanned them quickly, searching for any signs of aggression, but they weren’t in battle stances. They weren’t provoking. But they also weren’t submitting. I stepped forward, my voice calm but firm. “You are standing at the borders of the Midnight Pack. State your business.” One of the figures stepped forward. A man, older than me, with silver threading through his dark hair. (Okay, but what is it with silver colored wolves disrupting my peace with my mate though?)

“At least we know your shadows still work, even when you’ve had a little of your corruption cleared.” “Oh,” Midnight says, going a bit stiff with surprise in his arms, her eyes going wide. “I…I guess we do.” Midnight barely sleeps, tossing and turning in the bed, her wolf’s sad and desperate little howls echoing in her mind. She groans, pressing the heels of her palms in against her eyes, wrapping her shadows around her for comfort as she’s always done. Still, she doesn’t allow herself to slam the mental door on her wolf’s pain, forcing herself to witness it.

That was fun. There was something about the new wolf too, something that made her heart flutter. It was almost like he had an aura around him. She wondered which pack member he was. Except for James she didn't know any other males, none of them even introduced themselves. It didn't matter though. Clara still had no intention of getting close to these people. Clara made it back to her room. It was almost four am. Even though she was awake for almost twenty-four hours going to bed was unlikely. The whole pack would sleep most of the day tomorrow, Clara included. She needed something to burn off her energy.

He said with a cold menacing tone as he sped up the engine to use the distance between them and the Wolf shifter who looked like he had been drinking a bit too much, not realizing that this was going to be the last couple of minutes of his life. "Hey! Let me go! I've done nothing wrong!" The old wolf muttered as he was grabbed by the Mayor's Hunters by his arms and pulled off the pavement into their car. "Stop talking, you howling creature! You are in the HUMAN world after midnight! Don't you remember one of the BIG rules for you disgusting creatures huh?.....between midnight and eight in the morning NO creature is allowed to be outside!! So since it is already after midnight, you broke that

Just think it into existence. The full moon was a few days later. Just as I did during each prior one, I made my way outside close to midnight. In school, no one watched what I did, so it was easy enough to take an Uber out to the Fells in Medford, where I'd make my way into the woods to perform my ritual. Okay, it was probably pretty crazy considering how vulnerable I was without a wolf, without night vision, and without a powerful sense of smell to alert me to predators. But all caution was thrown to the wind out of desperation.

“There was a clash between some of our young ones and the Midnights.” I internally growl in frustration. The Midnight Pack are one of our neighbouring packs and we don’t get along. You could say we hate them, and they most likely feel the same about us. They’re a brooding pack who haven’t got many females so they go around poaching she wolves that aren’t in their pack or even claim a bunch of humans and have half-bloods. Half werewolves aren’t frowned on because it does happen, our pack has a few half-blood females, but you never know what their abilities are going to be.

I need to find my boys. ‘We’re good,’ the unknown Wolf lifts a hand from the sticks, waving his fingers to me. ‘Matty,’ he introduces himself, ‘we need to get back to Midnight, and I’m not going to be the one who tells the Alpha, or his son that we stopped off for snacks.’

Adora helplessly argued. "Is that so? Then she is welcome to do her worst!" Further attempts to convince Edwardo to release the siren were futile. The man was too blinded by greed to see the impending doom. And it came. The quiet waters of the golden seas suddenly became turbulent as several groups of sirens in their hundreds swam towards the surface. At exactly midnight, the scaly-tailed creatures crawled out of the water, shifting immediately to dazzling beauties. They ventured into the city and the once quiet night was disturbed with screams and cries of agony.
