TEMPTING THE ENEMY (MM)
Jeremy looked like he was about to say something, mouth parting, but then Miguel’s voice cut in—close now, annoyed, bitter.
The camera shifted sharply as Miguel stepped into frame, snatching it away and walking into what looked like his bedroom. He looked furious. Not even trying to hide it.
And then he said it.
“Maybe Zenya won’t be needed anymore.” My chest knotted. Miguel’s voice was like gravel. Cruel.
“There’s a replacement now. A twin, apparently. One good fucking thing Senator Myers ever did.”
His lips twisted, his eyes gleaming as he sat on the edge of the bed, camera too close to his face.
