Marco started to reply, but the general held up a hand. "Give it some thought, that's all I ask. See you in court". The dismissal was clear. Marco stood, said, "Yes, sir," and turned toward the door. Page saw the mane of silvery gray fur that ran down the other man's neck and winced. A HALF BREED. What the hell was next? Officers with scales? It made him sick. The door closed, and Marco was gone.

This is a story set in a much advanced technology era where the machines and specifically robots have taken over the city.

C’est un discours pour le moins intrigant que tient le directeur adjoint de l’Organisation à Allyn, après lui avoir fortement conseillé de le suivre dans un lieu mystérieux.
D’après lui, Allyn possèderait le même don qu’Axel, son frère défunt, à savoir celui de circuler dans un monde parallèle… mais dans quel but ?
Tout cela la laisse perplexe. Même si depuis deux mois elle vit une situation pour le moins surprenante, ce n’est pas pour autant qu’elle va croire en ce genre de chose.
