Novel & Cerita Minimalist Small Hourglass Tattoo

Esmeray held her forearm up, examining the intricate tattoo that adorned her skin. The tattoo depicted a majestic wolf, its eyes fierce and determined, surrounded by swirling patterns that seemed to dance with a life of their own. The lines were bold and precise, giving the impression of strength and resilience. “This tattoo is so unique,” Esmeray remarked, tracing her fingers over the contours of the design. “I’ve always felt a connection to it, but I never knew why.”

Touching her tattoo, I ask her what it means. “I don’t know how to explain it. You’ll think I’m crazy if I do,” she says. “Try me. I’ve had my fair share of crazy,” I offer in response. “I had the tattoo done after suffering a loss a few years back,” she explains. Pointing at it, she continues, “You see this? It’s called a Nautilus shell. Can you see how it curls up into itself, almost like it’s never ending? For me, that represents infinity with no end and no beginning.”

And that is when I see it. She turns slightly as she reaches past me to flip the small light by the entrance. A casual movement. Natural. And the light catches the back of her ear. A tattoo. Small. Precise. The kind of marking that takes a specific kind of needle and a specific kind of intention. Not decorative — not the ornamental kind that people choose because they like the design. Numbers. A sequence of them. Fine lined. Old enough to have settled completely into the skin. I have seen markings like this before.

I whispered, frowning as he pointed to my shoulder. I gasped softly, seeing the spot on my skin. The mark was about the size of a crescent-shaped thumbprint on my left shoulder. Its deep, rich brown color reminds me of a chestnut shell. The mark was slightly raised with a subtle texture that seemed to shift in the light, like the gentle curve of a shell. I could swear I was only seeing this for the first time. I had stripped so many times, gazing into the mirror, but I had never seen such a thing in my life until now.

It looked more like a tattoo than a marking. Just behind my right shoulder, there was a black tribal crescent moon, with the outline of a wolf howling at a moon in the tattoo. It was no bigger than an inch and a half, but it looked huge as I looked at it. I never put much thought into the mark the Alpha King had on his wrist, but now that I carried it, I wondered if it was a marking from the Moon Goddess. “I don’t think I can do this.” I whispered as my attention stayed on the mark.
