I said, waiting for an outburst. I didn't have to wait long. “What?! I refuse.” She flashed an angry look at both of us, as if daring us to refute. I winced. “Mirabella,” I said, opting to address her the way she wanted. “You might be in danger. And this might include those around you.” I hoped she understood. She obviously saw something. Or someone. Yet, she couldn't remember. That spoke volumes about who we were up against. “I require no babysitting,” she argued. “I'm good.”

"I'll let her go, but only if you double the payment. I won't give up a profitable asset without proper compensation." Jared's anger momentarily subsided, replaced by a twisted satisfaction. "You drive a hard bargain, McKayla," he commented, his voice dripping with contempt. "But I will pay your price. Do we have a deal?" As Jared rose from his seat, his gaze locked fiercely with McKayla's. His eyes burned with a dangerous intensity, conveying a message of consequence that sent shivers down her spine. The teacher raised her phone up "Shut up!!" Madison shouted "Arrest her" Annabella said and immediately the cops handcuffed her "You will regret this!!!"
