CHAPTER 88 BEATRICE'S POV There are promises that are more than capable of killing. I carried one such promise for more than two decades. And every time I look at Nova, it grows heavier. The summit lodge has quieted after the poisoning, but the silence is deceiving. Armed patrols circle the perimeter. Lanterns burn through the night.
