She happily clapped her hands before calling for one of Aryan’s guards. Yet as she slightly raised her head, she happened to glance at the pier and saw a familiar ship docking. She squinted her eyes to see the flag clearly. It was painted with a distorted shape of a ship, appearing wavy like waves of the ocean. Atop the drawing of the abnormal shape, two same sized cups rest on a horizontal line, one on each end, which is balanced by a vertical line. This is the ship of the Miracle merchants! The one the seller a while ago was bragging about!

she replied almost instantly, making me titter. "Can I get a cup of coffee please?" I tried to hide the sound of exhaustion from my voice but failed miserably. Looking at one of the many paintings hanging on the white painted walls, I couldn't help but admire it the more. It was a painting of a cat, one that I had found when I was on my way to shop for some supplies. I didn't know why I chose it out of other paintings there, but I guess it was an invisible force of attraction. It was a drawing of a weird cat with a colourful background. People thought I was crazy when I bought it. Truth be told, it was quite ugly but I guess I just liked it.

The scent of crayons still lingered in the air, and streaks of color stained small fingers and paper alike. Mirella sat gracefully on one of the small chairs, collecting the last of the children’s werewolf drawings. She lifted each sketch with a thoughtful expression, nodding and commenting on them. “Mmm, beautiful!” she smiled, holding up a drawing with a werewolf that had unusually large ears and a rainbow tail.

Everyone widened their eyes. They could not believe what they saw. The sixty-four-meter square drawing scroll was actually full of crosses! Looking at the drawing made them dizzy. What was it about? The old abbot was the first to ask, “Sir, what would you like to prove with this picture?” Heron smiled and answered, “Abbot, ladies and gentlemen, as you can see, this picture is full of crosses. More precisely, this picture has ten thousand rows of crosses, which also means it contains one hundred million individual crosses!”

Something older. She looked at the girl, who was now drawing quietly with a piece of charcoal on a flat stone. At first, she drew trees and stars. But soon, her hand changed direction. She drew a circle — the same one from outside. Liora froze. “Where did you see that?” The girl blinked. “I don’t know. It just came into my head.” Jonathan laughed. “Looks cool! Like magic!” Liora’s voice was sharp. “Don’t touch it.”

I promised while wrapping my arm around her. "I know," Mira said softly. She did not sound convinced and her tiny fingers continued to work frantically on the sketch. I shifted my weight on the rug and leaned over to see what she was drawing so intensely. My breath hitched in my throat and a cold wave of dread washed over my skin. She wasn't drawing a stray cat or a flower or a cartoon character. She drew a rough outline of a tall man wearing a sharp suit with dark hair falling over his forehead. The sketch was childish but the harsh jawline and the intense eyes were undeniably familiar.

He untied the ribbon, unrolling the paper flat across the oak desk between us. It was an ancient, hand-drawn illustration, a majestic, glowing stag standing beneath a blood-red moon, its antlers branching out into beautiful silver markings that mirrored the exact structure and patterns of the mark on my upper thigh. Surrounding the stag were figures in ancient royal robes, their hands raised in reverence. My breath caught in my throat. I stared at the drawing, my skin going cold as a familiar, rhythmic hum vibrated deep beneath my left thigh. "What is this?" I whispered.

It swirled in lazy patterns with every step I took, making it obvious no one had been in here for years. The stillness in the air felt heavy and untouched, as if the room itself had been holding its breath, waiting for someone to return and disturb it. Drawings covered the walls, some pinned haphazardly while others were curled at the edges where the adhesive had failed. They depicted all kinds of things, but the majority were creatures twisted, nightmarish things with too many limbs, hollow eyes and gaping mouths lined with jagged teeth. The drawings were all created using pencils, and one of them depicted a naked woman. The thought of how many naked women Jared had drawn crossed my mind, but I quickly dismissed it. The drawing was truly beautiful. The lines and curves of the woman's body were perfectly executed, making it seem as if I were looking at a real person instead of a drawing. "This is amazing, Jared," I said, not just trying to be polite, but genuinely impressed. Jared brushed off my compliment and continued to flip through the pages, showing me more drawings of naked women. I noticed that their faces were purposely blurred out, and I couldn't help but ask.

I just wanted mum to stay here for a while.” One of her drawings rested ont he table too, almost covered by mum’s scarf. I pulled it from under there. It wasn’t the best picture but I could tell it was two older women with a child in between them. One of the women’s hair was done with a yellow pencil while the other was black, the child had tiny dots around her head to imitate hair, but what they all had in common was the yellow circles hovering over their heads and the triangle wings.
