Build You Up
She helps me snap the rest of the dog crate together, then sets it up in the corner of her living room with a small litter box and food and water before placing the little kitten in it.
“She loves it,” Missy gushes, watching as the spoiled little cat nestles into her bed for the night, mewling softly into her hand as she pets her goodnight.
“I really outdid myself putting it together,” I boasted.
“Sure you did,” she laughed softly, melting my insides with the musical sound. I love listening to her laugh.
“Missy,” I said, waiting for her eyes to leave the kitten and trail up to me, “Can we, uh, talk about what happened earlier?”
