Rayne and Misty said in unison and no we still don’t see Misty it was like our eyes couldn’t see her but our ears heard her. Lennox still half shifted stepped inside their circle like he was top dog and Rayne smiled. “I don’t know if we should close our eyes or look. “She’s got a friend who ended the friendship because she claimed that Missy said something harsh and hurtful that was completely out of character. Missy insisted that she couldn’t have done such a thing because she was sleeping. Does this sound plausible?” “It’s not uncommon for the angrier or more violent side of the one who is in the process of transitioning to come forth while in this state. It’s basically a state of half-here and half in the land of dreams. Souls can get stuck in this realm if they’re not careful. It often takes something like a shock or pain to bring them out of it.

My vision was clearer, my hearing more acute, and I could smell the metallic scent of blood in the air. Savannah and I lunged into the fray. I targeted a rogue who was about to pounce on one of our pack members. With a swift movement, I sank my teeth into its hind leg, pulling it back and away. The rogue snarled and tried to twist free, but I tightened my grip, using my weight to pin it down. More rogues appeared, but we were relentless. I leaped at another, slashing with my claws and knocking it to the ground. The rogue struggled, but a quick bite to the throat ended the fight.

“Good. Because if you were, you will regret it.” Vixxen said nothing as the man turned and walked towards the door. But just before leaving, he paused. “Destroy them, Vixxen. Consider this your last reminder.” The door shut behind him. Silence. Vixxen let out a breath, running his fingers through his hair. He picked up the papers again, each one, making sure he didn’t forget anything. These papers were what was missing in the book Zeph found in the library. He lit a candle and slowly burned the papers, one by one, watching as they turned to ash. When the last one was gone, his voice was barely beyond a whisper. “I’m not going to let you harm her… Terran.”

Why would that be? He was dangerous, though, and I was sure he hadn't accepted responsibility for his actions. I had no reason to assume or trust his intentions just purely by finding that book. Far as I knew, he was researching The Vicious for use in that cult. Alexander constantly called him out for defending Misty, who was definitely a part of that whole group. I shuddered at that thought, recalling my interactions with her. Just like Nicholas, I couldn't detect any maliciousness, so perhaps they were good at hiding it.

"You didn't remind me. It was one of the many memories that were forcefully repressed from my mind. I recalled it when I was on my little vacation in Ethereal." "Oh, well, uh, meet Rune." Zukira gestured to the slightly taller girl beside her. She was blonde, had her mom's eyes and wings and was a ferret, from what I could see of her tail and ears. "Nice to meet you, Rune. I'm Nyxie," I waved. "Hello. Nice to meet you, too." Rune waved.

Vixen: Our mate is in trouble. I heard Vixen roaring from inside me. I gritted my teeth and let Vixen take over me. My bond cracked as I tore my clothes off of my body. Vixen leashed out and she ran in the direction of our mansion. I knew on foot I would not be able to reach the mansion as fast as Vixen could. So I allowed her to take the charge.

Bending forward, she carefully picked up the little animal, bringing it closer to her chest and the kitten purred delightfully.
