The Empire State Building was a jagged spire of obsidian, its windows replaced by glowing data-cells that hummed with the collective consciousness of a million "Glitches." "Julian?" Elara whispered, her voice sounding raw and fragile in this new, high-fidelity world. She looked at her hands. They were flesh and bone, warm to the touch, but beneath the skin, she could see the faint, rhythmic glow of the Source-Code. "What have we done? This isn't the Valley. This isn't the Real. It’s... it’s a Graft."
