There was no way on earth I was going to willingly allow my first semester get ruined by this- ‘’Why if I may ask?’’ Professor Rogers' voice broke into my thoughts again. ‘’Umm, it's just that, um um just that-’’ ‘’Professor Rogers, Miss Gold here-’’ ‘’Silver’’ I corrected Henry but I felt he did that on purpose. ‘’Sorry my bad. Miss Silver here has no problem with getting paired with me shes just overwhelmed and excited that-’’ ‘’Will you shut up, why would I-’’

I wasn’t going to wait for him to come back and touch me. I moved. I ignored the bed. Ignored the fruit on the table. I searched the room. I opened drawers. I looked under cloths. I hoped for something sharp. A knife. Scissors. Anything. There was nothing. Then I saw the table. A plate of meat sat there. Beside it was a heavy silver spoon. It wasn’t a knife. But it was metal. I knelt by the fireplace and pressed the spoon against the rough stone. I rubbed it hard. The sound scraped through the quiet room. I worked until my fingers hurt. Until my hands shook. The silver wore away, showing hard metal beneath.

Malachi grinned, and I found myself wanting to wipe that smirk off, but my body refused to obey me. But this situation will not last long. Silver may weaken werewolves, but that was only if it was left there. Malachi had removed the blade, so it was only to wait out its effects, and I would be ready to fight again. “Speaking of gifts, do you know it is possible to make silver dissolve when it comes in contact with blood? It's quite hard to manufacture, but nothing I won't do for a fellow alpha,” Malachi cheerily said, like he was reading my mind, and I clicked my tongue.

I left the mirror, going into the shower. Silver woke up before me and he had already taken his bath because he wanted to wake Archie and Dean up by himself and also dress them up. This time around, I hope they won’t mess up the bathroom. I took my bath and after bathing I threw on comfy clothes. Well, I just want to stay at home today and have fun with the boys. I left my room and headed to the pup’s room, but they were not there. I went to the living room, but they were in the kitchen. I got to the kitchen, and I was left surprised as I watched the three of them. Silver was mixing something that looks like a waffles batter because of the smell and he was wearing, just a pair of joggers wit

The Microsoft sheet appeared with numbers and alphabets. “What’s this?” Shadow cocked her head, smiling widely as well. She knew what she was looking at, but she feigned ignorance for the element of surprise. Or just because. “The discrepancies,” Phantom clarified, this time, was smiling wide. Malikul gaped. “A few grams of silver were missing every week. Precisely, 33 grams of silver, and 224 grams of copper the next week. Whoever did it is a genius.” Malikul clapped.

No one clarified things for me or cleared my name, and they did a good job of hiding everything from Peter. He never knew. Peter transferred 10,000 dollars to me every month. But he didn't know Penelope had taken the bank card from me on the first night I arrived at the Sullivan estate. At my lowest, I dug through the cafeteria trash for food. The stench still haunted me. But my hunger made everything bearable. My classmates stood nearby and watched me silently. They recorded it all and uploaded it online. Ironically, something good came out of that video. Peter saw it. He learned about my miserable life in college. He also found out that Penelope had taken the bank card meant for me.

what? Six years ago. The Silver Moon venue. A similar situation, a different outcome. The parallel was unmistakable and chilling. The sound of running water from the private washing area stopped abruptly. Moments later, the door opened to reveal Madeline Bell, wrapped in a white ceremonial robe, her hair damp and falling in perfect waves around her shoulders. "You're awake," she said softly, her voice carefully modulated to sound concerned. "How are you feeling? The silver poisoning was quite severe." She approached the bed with measured steps, holding out a silver-neutralizing herb. "This will help with the headache."

I was the Public Enemy Number One of the Sterling Group. I needed a way in. A way to see her. A way to prove it. I sat down at the small kitchen island, my eyes falling on a stack of mail I’d ignored for weeks. On top was a glossy brochure for a high-end catering service. “The Silver Spoon: Exclusive Staffing for New York’s Elite.” I stared at it. The Sterlings were hosting Alaric. There would be dinners. Galas. Private family brunches. They would need staff. Temporary staff. People who were invisible. People who wore white coats and kept their heads bowed while they served the wine.

She asked. “Just milk would do.” Silver replied and stood up, approaching Elena in the kitchen. Her eyes followed her every movement, but particularly her face. She was annoyed, and other emotions mixed in it. The coffee machine didn’t work on time, and Silver could feel the frustration that oozed out of it. “Calm down,” she said to her, placing her hand on hers as she tried to hit the thing again. “Do you want to talk?” Silver asked. Elena removed her hand from Silver’s, went to the fridge, and took the milk carton. She brought a to-go cup from their rack before pouring some content into it, adding a straw into it and placing the lid back on it.
