Jayla Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. An annoying recurring sound flits into my ears and I almost groan in frustration because it's interfering with my peaceful sleep. I try to twist around and slam my alarm shut but my body refuses to cooperate with me. I mumble, moving my lips to call for my parents but my mouth refuses to make a noise. I am not able to do anything.

Some nights I'll moan so loud that it'll wake my husband up next to me. Beep. Beep. Beep. The sounds in the room are so annoying. I wish that someone would just turn it off so that I can go back to sleep. I don’t want to get up. I make myself turn over away from the errant noise as I squeeze my eyes shut tighter. I just need more sleep. I don’t want anything else right now. Quiet and sleep sound so good but that insistent beeping just wont stop. I groan as I smash my face into my pillow.

I could hear their moaning and groaning in the hospital bed! Liar!
