he asks and I look down and fidget with my fingers and bite my lower lip until I taste the metallic taste of blood. “He is the hound of hell, the son of Loki and the giantess Angrbooa. The brother of Hel herself.” He chuckles and shakes his head. “Well, that’s the myth. But no, have you heard about the Moon Goddess, Selene?” Yes, I have. Nodding my head. I’m not lying. I’ve read books about werewolves and their deity, Selene. “Well, Fenrir is the twin brother of Selene. Now he isn’t the hound of hell. He is the God of hell. The Harbinger of Death.” Why is he telling me this?

Sloane Once Aisling put it into my head, I couldn’t get the idea that maybe this was the Moon Goddess’ compromise for us not getting a white wolf out of my head. I’d be the first ever, that I know of, female Alpha. Yeah, it would be an uphill climb, but what hasn’t been? I’m used to fighting my way through just about every situation. What’s one more fight? And maybe that’s why I’ve had to fight so much in my life. Maybe the Moon Goddess was preparing me for this moment in my life.

“But this is not a class on raven legends. Now, who knows what other animal Odin kept with him?” A few hands raised, and I was able to give the answer, “The wolves, Geri and Freki.” “Yes. Now,” Professor Anderson clapped her hands, “the stories of Geri and Freki link our kind to defenders of deity, along with the ravens. Others link them to the shapeshifter, Loki. Many of our Nordic brothers and sisters believe that the ancestor who gave them the ability to shift is, in fact, the god Loki through his son, Frenrir.”

“Your kind is familiar with runes, right?” “Of course,” Owen answers for both of us. I slept through that class in school. “The spell on the queen uses runes from Tyr’s aett; you’re familiar with Tyr?” Jonah pauses to check. “The Norse god of war. He sacrificed his arm to trap Fenrir,” Owen says. “That,” I agreed quietly. “Well, Tyr’s aett is all over her.” Jonah points his finger at Owen. “And you are bound with etheric chains.” Owen shakes his head. “I’m unfamiliar with the term.”

My body and mind are present, but I can feel the spirit push into my consciousness and take control. “Jormungandr, brother?” The voice that came out of my mouth was not mine. I would assume it was Arcas, but the voice was female. Feeling the Amory’s power, I can feel the energy and it does not feel male like I would assume Arcas would feel like. Erik’s head tilts side to side like he is trying to place the voice. Going back to my history, Jormungandr and Fenrir are brothers, but they had a sister that married Arcas. Hel is the ruler of Niflheim, but everyone just calls it Hel after her. After Ragnarök, Loki, her father, was imprisoned, and she was tasked to keep him from getting out.

Nysera: The Goddess of Secrets Volume I – The Forgotten Goddess Chapter 15: The Reunion Nysera stood frozen. The growl came again: low, familiar, impossible. Her fingers tightened around the enormous obsidian egg pressed against her chest as she slowly turned toward the sound. Something moved between the ruined pillars—a shadow, tall and broad, its eyes burning crimson through the darkness. Nysera's breath caught. "...Umbra?" The creature stepped into the faint glow of the Abyssal crystals. Nysera stared. For several heartbeats, she couldn't move.
