“Because in the last book, my therapeutic killing of him was so macabre they made me remove it and fix it.” Cruz’s brows which were meeting in the middle now jacked up high on his forehead. “I know you said you killed him off in every book. Which character was he in this one? I couldn’t pinpoint him.” “Did you know the name Odin, which stems from the Norse God mythology, has many different names in Old Norse mythology? I always make it a minor character, but I always use one variation of his name. In this book he was Bǫlverkr. It means evil doer.”

"Don't you see? We both know that's not real." "It doesn't matter what I see!" she shot back, her voice trembling with a mix of anger and something else. "I won't be a part of some… some curse-breaking ritual! I have a life, Lucas!" Her words hit me like a physical blow. A life. Her kids, the warmth I'd seen in her eyes when she looked at them. The guilt that had been simmering within me boiled over. **** As I stepped out of the shower, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease. The full moon was approaching, and I knew what that meant. It was the night when Freya, the Norse goddess of love and fertility, was said to roam the earth, seeking companionship.

“Ek gefþúr minn megin, minn kunnusta, minn fróðleikr.” The flames danced in the palms of my hands and I closed my eyes when I felt it swirl inside me. Karani placed her hands on mine and the flames mingled. It was an incredibly heady feeling, the power rushing through me. The flames burned brighter as Karani grabbed my head with both hands. “Mega Óðinnr gefa þú hans speki, Baldur hans nathæ. Mega Eirr’s heill vefja þú. Mega Hlínr hlifa þú ok þórr leið þú inn striith. Ek heita Forseti’s jafnaðr til rule þú ok Váli mit þér er þú leita hefndir. Ek heita fyrir Viðarr’s Þǫgn er striith ódr of þú. Með Magni’s megin ok Týr’s geisa fyrir striith, ek heita fyrir Heimdallur til munu þinn vorðr.

Her hands were bound with a strip of red cloth, heavy chains clinking with each step. Her face was gaunt and stricken, her features sharp despite her age. Her white hair hung in thin, unkempt strands, streaked with remnants of black, as if time and something far darker had refused to fully claim her. “Morgana,” one of the elders announced. “A dark witch who has been aiding Valentina and Freya.” The moment she was brought forward, both Freya and Valentina’s composure shattered completely. Fear flashed across their faces, raw and undeniable.

“What’d you see for me, Haldir?” Haldir huffed through his nose as his face curled up into a disgusted sneer while he avoided her eyes. A knowing smile curled up on Mory’s lips as a tear made its way down her cheek. Picking up her glass again, she brought it to her lips. “It’s alright, Haldir. I already know how this ends. You don’t have to sugar coat things for me. I came to Norway to die.” After sipping back a mouthful and swallowing it, she blew out through her mouth in relief, finally being able to say it out loud so someone, anyone, would hear her. “And now that you showed me those lights, I’m ready.”

Each word he signed added to the rich tapestry of Aqualearia's lore, and as the tale unfolded, their connection deepened, and the barriers between them seemed to dissolve. "In the time when the world was still young, there existed a powerful and ancient being known as the giantess Angrboða," Finrir signed with eloquence, his hands forming precise gestures to convey the story. "From her union with the great trickster god Loki, three remarkable children were born."

“We are getting a bit ahead of the story. Veles and Perun took the Zoryas as wives and their children were the rest of the gods, as you said – Lada the daughter of Veles, Triglav like his ruddy father Perun, Svarog of Veles, and of course Morena, goddess of winter, death, and the harvest, and her twin Jarilo, the golden god of spring, the two doomed lovers who come to life and die between harvest and spring, where Jarilo is reaped and Morena turns into a hag in the coldest, harshest months.” Dmitri’s vines formed a birch of a woman with a thicket of hair and a green shoot god, their lips touching thrice. Jarilo was plucked like wheat by the goddess and Morena mourned, having killed him in

How had he not known that they would want more than just a place to live? “So, as it is right with the moon deities, let us present our pack before them. As children of the moon, let us call upon the moon goddess Selene , the wolf god of war and vengeance, Fenrir, the wolf goddess of love and abundance Freya, and the Guardian wolf, Zion, to strengthen us today as we declare the birth of Genesis.” The elder said and in unison they howled. “SELENE! FENRIR! ZION! FREYA!”

"Victor, you randomly got us on a plane to Norway this morning, and now we are wandering in the middle of nowhere. Your ancestry isn't important right now. What is important is what we are doing here. I need to know, Victor!" "Don't you understand, Maddie?!" Victor erupts, eyeing me as if I'm the crazy one when I stare at him. And when he realizes I have no idea what he is on about, he sighs heavily and continues talking. His tone is that of talking to a child. "We are here to ensure nothing bad happens to our babies. And to do that, we have to make an offering to Freyr—the Norse goddess of peace and harvest, but also fertility—that's why we are here, Maddie. She needs her offering in order

I follow him, sitting cross-legged and facing him as he begins. “My mother’s ancestry stretches back to the old Norse mystics. Volur, they were called. Seeresses. Practitioners of seidr magic. They were believed to weave fate, to speak to spirits, and to manipulate minds and elements.” I listen intently as he speaks, his voice soft with reverent pride.
