My anxiousness wears off momentarily, replaced by awe. “This place is…” I turn to Liam, completely at a loss for words. “Wow!” I peel my arm from him and step towards a large painting, admiring the artwork. “Is that The Mona Lisa?” I ask, my eyes wide with astonishment. “Are we looking at the actual Mona Lisa?“ But I heard the French government had declared the painting priceless. If this is the real Mona Lisa, then Mr Lucas Everhart must've brought down the heavens to purchase it.

Monalisa frowned because she could tell there was something off. “What's funny about that?” Lisa asked in a cold voice, “Nothing is funny actually. The truth is, it's sad to find out that your mother lied to you your whole life. Which kind of mother would do that to their child?” Luca's face changed into pity, pretending to sympathise with her.

I protested and Monalisa looked at me with raised eyebrows because she knew I was lying. "You can fool everyone else but not me, Hazel."Monalisa chuckled and I groaned when I heard her words. Cassandra’s POV “I don’t get it,” I said, my head tilted to the side. We were in the Louvre staring at the Mona Lisa. The iconic painting was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. It looked far less imposing than I’d imagined. “Don’t get what?” Jordyn asked. “I guess I don’t get why this painting is so famous,” I said. “I mean, the woman’s kinda ugly. Don’t you think?” “It has something to do with her smile,” Jordyn said, leaning in close and dropping his voice to a whisper. “No one knows what she’s smiling at. It’s like she has a secret.”

We both glanced at each other and stopped, trying too hard not to laugh at his laughable expression. "What, Mor?" Monna asked, with puppy dog eyes. "I really heard that, Monna.
