Monica's Engagement Ring From Friends Novels & Stories

Most of these posh men have a hidden desire to try another man, and I hear the conversations in the inner circle of the yacht club I am a part of. It's hard work to try and please your best friend and girlfriend when they hate each other. Today is our engagement party. I will be proposing to Leticia with the family heirloom ring. It is a ring that doesn’t have one diamond, it has seven carved onto a beautiful green emerald. Leticia’s eyes almost fell out of their sockets when she first saw them.

He stepped closer, reaching automatically for my hand. I moved aside. His hand fell empty, and his expression darkened. “It’s only a necklace. Chloe likes it, so let her wear it for a while. She can give it back before the ceremony starts.” I looked at the man who was supposed to become my husband and almost laughed. “Adrian, your mother gave me that necklace for our engagement. Are you seriously asking me to let another woman wear it around in front of everyone?” “What other woman?” Adrian snapped, clearly losing patience. “Chloe is my best friend.”

Monique stared at my stern face and suddenly felt a little panicked. She thought that I would be just like how I was in the past, talking to her gently and forgiving her easily without bringing up the past. However, all I did was calmly break off the engagement instead. She knew exactly what it meant by me breaking the engagement off. Her dad, John Walton, was a very promiscuous man who had plenty of mistresses and illegitimate children everywhere. Even though he'd orally said that Monique was the sole heiress, there were plenty of other step-siblings who were eyeing her place.

My patience had completely run out. "Monica, your bragging means absolutely nothing to me," I said, looking at her coldly. "Since you love recycling trash so much, you can have Louis. Now, give me the necklace!" Monica’s face went through shades of green and white. Gritting her teeth, she dug the sapphire necklace out from the bottom of her jewelry box. "Take it," she snapped, holding it out. Just as my fingers were about to brush the metal, Monica suddenly let go.

I asked before pouring another shot at my glass. "Girl, maybe you are the only one who does not know him. FYI he is just the head of Villa Cruz Construction Company. You really got a big fish," she mumbled. "He's the one who caught a big fish. B*tch I am Cassandra Monasterio, daughter of Deyniel Monasterio, the heiress of Monasterio Worldwide," I stated, full of my self. MW is the biggest hotel chain here in the Philippines, we also have 66 branches worldwide.

“We fake-date, do some public appearances, make it look real. Then we announce an engagement before the end of the quarter.” “An engagement?” “And then… a wedding. By the end of the year.” Natalie leans back from her position and leans against the couch and looks at me like I just told her we were getting abducted by aliens. “Okay. Wow.” “I know it’s a lot.” “Luc. You want me to fake being your girlfriend. Then your fiancée. Then your wife. All within a year! This is more than a lot it's crazy."

"Seriously, look at what you're wearing. Even the nannies in the Marino family dress better than you." The lackeys around her couldn't hold back and burst into mocking laughter. I had always believed comfort mattered more than designer labels, but in a hall drowning in diamonds and custom gowns, no one here cared about that belief. I pressed my lips together, heat rising up my chest. "So, you're still judging people by logos? You're unbelievably shallow. Luca sure had special taste when picking his godsister." Thanks to her stunt, I wasn't in the mood for the auction anymore. I turned to the auctioneer and pointed straight at the Eternal Star ring in the display case.

Staring at the window display like it might bite him. "You're really doing this?" Marcus asked. "Yeah. I am." "About time." Marcus clapped his shoulder. "Let's go buy a ring." Inside, everything gleamed. Glass cases filled with diamonds. Emeralds. Sapphires. Too much. Too bright. Noah's palms started sweating. A woman approached. Mid-fifties. Kind eyes. "Gentlemen. How can I help you today?" "Engagement ring," Noah said. His voice sounded strange. Too formal. "For my girlfriend."

She was very excited and Angelica could see that she had spent hours getting prepared to impress. "Oh, here you are," Veronica cheered. "Look," she said, reaching her hand out. On her ring finger, there was an emerald ring. "I am engaged. Guess who?" she prompted with a big smile. Engaged? Her friend had told her nothing about meeting a man previous to this, but then Angelica knew that her friends were meeting without her. She was slowly getting excluded from the friendship circle. "Congratulations! Who?" Angelica asked curiously. "Lord Allen." She wiggled her eyebrows.

“He’s rich. Of course, it’s possible. Who’s Terzo?” “His Italian friend.” I didn’t want to scare her and tell her Terzo was an Italian mafia don. “Let me see your ring.” I took them off and dropped them into her palm. “Damn, these are heavy, and the stones are huge.” She raised the engagement and looked at it through the light. “It’s flawless.” “What are you doing?” “Maybe he tagged it with a microchip, but it’s clean.” She slid them back into my finger. “How do you exactly feel about him, Rob? Honestly, do you still trust him?”
