“Oh, for the love of the goddess,” I sighed. “So we’re back to your bullshit old and fragile act?”
Malcolm scoffed.
“I’d like to see you play at being ‘old and fragile’ when you get to eighty-eight, Hector.”
Surprisingly, this shut me up, and for the next few moments we continued on silently through the passage of caves until finally, I spoke.
“What’s the end game here, Malcolm?” I asked, and he turned to me with an upraised brow, like he had no idea what he was talking about.
