I stay silent. He grips harder, pulling until my scalp burns. "You think staying quiet will make you look innocent?" he spits. "You're a fucking monster. An abomination. Everyone knows what you are." My jaw tightens. Ares growls. 'Let me kill him. Just one. Just this one.' I exhale slowly, already feeling the bloodlust stirring. The interrogator laughs under his breath. "You really don't get it, do you?" he says. "Things aren't looking good for you."

"Keep it steady!" I regained my footing between the bags, aimed, then took another two shots. One hit his upper arm, the other his shoulder, but he kept coming, unfazed by the gushing holes. I shifted my weight onto my other foot and grinned. I might not have stopped him, but the Thornblood dipped bullets had punctured him, binding shade and host to the same satisfying fate. I fired one last time, hitting him strait between his soulless eyes.

For the first time the monster seemed to wonder if this bond was already winning. He turned and walked out without another word. The cell door slammed shut behind him. I lay on the floor breathing hard with a small smile still on my lips. My wolf hummed satisfied inside me. The chains were broken. The Alpha had bled. And the bond between us had just grown a lot more dangerous.

"Six AM sharp. Squad One tags out, Squad Three tags in." Arlo's fingers fly across his keyboard, pulling up the roster. "Vera takes the perimeter. The Dark Elf from the training hall. Her archery is lethal." "True. But every high-ranking monster has an exploitable racial weakness," I say, flashing a wicked smirk. Arlo spins his chair around, his jaw surprisingly tense. "You mean...like sexually harassing a Throne Angel?" I grin. He'd monitored my entire audio feed. "You threatened to kiss a giant, floating eyeball," Arlo mutters, aggressively crossing his arms and looking away.

She continued to shriek at him like a madwoman until he finally lost all patience and shouted back at her, "You know nothing! Do you really think you'd be happy spending the rest of your life with him? I did it for you!" That made me chuckle. To think he was actually claiming that he did it for her sake. How hilarious! He really was a lunatic. Natalie continued pounding him. "Why did you lie to me? I trusted you so much!" Meanwhile, after hearing the truth, the victims also lunged at Harvey. I turned away, listening as Harvey's anguished screams rang out from behind. He suffered the same fate I did in my previous life. They broke his legs, and blood poured down his head.

His wrist was split open and blood was coming out in bright colors I could smell every drop. The room got smaller. All I could think about was the blood. My teeth hurt. My body moved before I could think. I fell to the ground beside the hunter. My hand went around his throat. My mouth was close to the wound on his wrist. The hunter looked up at me. He was really scared. I saw myself in his eyes. I looked like a monster. "Kill it " Elias said. Not her. It. The other hunter hit me with a silver chain.

Just as he finishes the sentence I grab my bow and then the arrow from the quiver and step out into the light to get a better look at the monster then I release the string. The arrow flies through the air and hit’s the monster right in the chest. When the arrow lands, the monster jerks back from the force then looks down in surprise at the arrow protruding from its chest. Slowly it sinks down onto its knees and with a lot of effort says “You will regret killing me Ma Vista’s, the master is coming for you and when he finds you he will kill you.” And with that the monster gives a final moan and collapses onto the ground. I spirit over to Ash and jump onto him wrapping my legs around his waist

With a deep breath, he forced himself to stand. The brute snarled, stretching his chains as he prepared to charge. His red eyes burned with hunger, his movements wild and animalistic. He was ready to end Hunter’s life, his every step radiating pure aggression. Hunter stood his ground, knowing he was the only thing standing between Aleah and the monster before him. Hunter locked eyes on the brute as he approached, his stance steady and unyielding. Meanwhile, Aleah’s heart pounded in her chest, fear gripping her as she watched the scene unfold.

Charles said disturbing me from my thoughts. "When is our next monster subjugation?" I asked while fixing my tie. "It's not set yet why?" He replied while giving me a confused look. "Just wondering if the monster's hunger will ease after they ate you," I said using my most serious tone. "H-hey don't joke like that! Besides you can't do that" He said confidently after fixing the cup that I used for drinking tea. "How so?" I asked raising a brow at him. "You'll be so lonely without me" He teased and ran straight outside the room.

“Are you a vampire, too?” I snorted, though my lips curled in disgust. “No, I’m not. I’m a hunter, Ver. I hunt supernatural creatures, monsters, anything that goes bump in the night, to keep humans safe.” “Monsters like me, you mean,” she whispered, fixing her eyes on the muddy ground.
