An actual, metallic, deadly-looking gun. "Um," I say carefully. "You do know that's not a regular car accessory, right?" Bellamy glances over, then he picks it up. "This?" Before I can answer, he clicks something. There's a metallic sound, and my heart literally stops— click... A tiny flame bursts from the barrel. Cora screams. I nearly die. Eve doesn't even blink. It had the shadow of a wolf, but its limbs were made of the same silver liquid as Julian’s eyes. It didn't have a face, just a vertical slit of violet light that bled static into the air. "Kael?" I stepped forward, the dagger held low.

Ace stood alone as the road curved into silence. Behind him, the woods stirred and then they came. Ten wolves. They were dark, fast, and soulless. He met the first wolf mid-leap and slammed him into the dirt with a bone-breaking crunch.

Alaric shouted. He moved forward. His body was glowing with a deep amber light. He looked like a sun in the middle of a dark night. He punched the monster, and his fist went straight through the smoke. The monster let out a high-pitched scream, but it didn't die. It just shifted its shape and wrapped its long, smoky arms around Alaric’s waist. "Alaric!" I cried. I saw the light in his skin start to dim. The monster was drinking his energy. Alaric’s face went pale, and he fell to his knees. The shadow was covering him like a blanket of ink.

He managed to grab the M16 gun and direct it at the monster. "Dor! Dor! Dor!" Jacob immediately shot the monster until it died.

They followed Malcolm who shoved them behind a giant rock and kept unusually still even the sound of his breathing was really low , he snapped his finger and a small smoke screen surrounded them . Behind them they heard a horrible creek as if the monster had walked right into the forest and then BAM. , a loud sound similar to that of thunder falling on earth crackled and the ground under them started to tremble with high intensity . The sound of hooves came closer and closer , and then - Chelsea saw the monster peering at them right where they were hiding . She wanted to jump up and fight it but then Ron cluchted her hand and shook his head .
