Where I came from? The question lingered, unanswered. I gripped the paper a little tighter and began to read. “When the moon disappears,” I said, my voice sounding too loud in the still room, “they will arrive.” The words felt heavy as I spoke them. “Wolf like creatures,” I continued slowly, “that lurk in the dark and never see the light. Those whose souls were stripped from their bodies, leaving nothing but monsters behind.” My throat tightened. “They wander without reason. Without restraint. A threat not only to packs, but to the world itself.”

Her upper and lower teeth were chattering uncontrollably. This person… thing before her… was a monster! How could a human possibly fight a monster? And why did such a monster even exist? The apocalypse was already bad enough—why did monsters have to appear too? "What exactly are you?" Christina roared, summoning the last of her courage. Number 114 thought for a moment. "I am… a monster your dad created." "Ah—!" Christina screamed as the woman plunged a fruit knife into her body, pushing it in inch by inch. The pain made tears stream down her face.

It would just be a wasted effort. Every horror story that his brothers told him went into his head but what dominated was the story about monsters with green flaming eyes hiding in the dark as it waited for a prey - a tiny puppy with white fur and brown spots and whose left leg couldn’t be bent - that was how his brothers described the prey. He thought that it was a perfect decription of him but then his mother would say that what the monsters with green flaming eyes didn’t know was that the prey was a hero in disguise. Suddenly the description did not fit him anymore.

“Shhh, we're surrounded!” At first, Liam wasn't sure what that meant, until he finally looked around and found dozens of monsters surrounding them. The forms of the monsters were various. Some of them looked like slime humans and were hunchbacked. Some of them have tails. Some of them looked like messy piles of meat. But they had very sharp claws, as well as a very large mouth. "They want to eat us!" shrieked Liam. He hurriedly used mind links to wake up his members. “Guys, wake up! Fast wake! The monsters are surrounding us right now.” He saw the members awake with a start. "Wake up the Fire Blood fighters beside you!"

He was bending down in front of me, his face only inches away from my own. “One tear, one lash” I yelled back, trying my best to keep my voice sounding strong. Even though all I wanted was to cry. “Again!” he roared, his hot breath bashed against my face as he screamed, “One tear, one lash” I screamed back loudly. “What are you?” he demanded, “A monster” “What are you?” “A monster!” “And what do monsters not do?” “Monsters don’t cry” I yelled as loud as I could. “And why don’t monsters cry? Tell me beast, what’s the rule?”

I am glued at the ground while the monster in front of me is ready to devour me. "Please...don't..." my heavy breathing became ragged as the monster slowly walk towards me. This monster has a thick fur. It's huge and its sharp teeth is gritting in front of me. It is a wild wolf that wants to eat me. My heart hitched up when it agressively went towards me and the only thing I could do is to shout for help. "Lexis Midnight!" I immediately opened my eyes as I heard someone called my name. I sat down and roam my eyes around. My brows furrowed as I felt the sweat on my forehead. I stared at my dad and mom who was watching my reaction.

I was finally able to feel my legs. Reuben gave me a look of disbelief "You can't be serious..." I looked him right in the eye "I mean every word." "Do you want someone else dead?" Reuben asked, calculating his gaze. "Am I safe keeping it to myself?" I asked taking a deep breath to stop my racing heart. He shrugged, folding his arms, "And what exactly are you going to tell your mom?" Holding onto the wall I stood my ground refusing to look weak. "That there are monsters, werewolves killing people in this town and she will hunt you down and kill all your kind." I'm pretty confident she wouldn't fail honestly.

“But still we couldn’t—” “You can say it was luck.” Bullshit, luck’s got nothing on monsters, but I silently listened to the way he sugar-coated it. “Now, I would happily elaborate on the matter if you would come with me and answer a couple of questions to loosen the knots for us. Edward and I think you have the answers to the question we don’t know. So, if you could, in good faith, help us out.” I changed my mind that moment—either a potential enemy or a potential ally. “Help? And regarding what?” I inquired, halting my steps.

My wolf form moved with swift agility, darting in and out of the shadows, striking at vulnerable spots on the monster's body. The beast let out a pained howl, its monstrous shape writhing and contorting in a desperate bid to fend off our assault as it maneuvered itself towards the crater it had come from. We were relentless, our determination unwavering, as we channeled our combined strength into every strike.
