I nodded once, hoping it was the truth, even though the lie tasted bitter. From outside the chambers, I could hear the sound of music already playing, the chanting, the roar of the Crimson Moon Clan, as they gathered in the courtyard. My pack, my own people. Tonight has been planned as the night they would all bow to me not because of tradition, but because, out of all the young maidens, the Moon itself would recognize me. Leo was grinning, batting at a stray droplet of water that had escaped a canteen, watching it wobble like a translucent jellyfish. But it was Luna who caught my breath. Her hair, as white as mine, fanned out around her head like a halo of silk. Her eyes weren't on the Earth, and they weren't on the cabin. She was staring fixedly at the Moon—the glowing, jagged crescent that loomed ahead of us like a curved ivory blade. "It’s calling," Luna whispered. Her voice had that hollow, rhythmic quality that usually preceded one of her prophecies. "The Great White Wolf isn't on the Moon, Mama. She is the Moon. And she’s angry that the metal-men are crawling on her skin."

I assumed it was because of Brian and the potentiom attack that would be made by the Sea and Moons pack. I was worried about that, too. But the worry on Ollen's face looked much deeper. "We'll have everything under control, and we'll survive this full moon like we did before." I said, placing my hands at either side of his face to pull him down for a kiss. I wanted to give him as much positive energy as possible, and I knew as a Luna that it was supposed to be one of my duties. But after stopping my training with the Lunas, I didn't quite know how to do that.

“Not because of the werewolf clan.” She tore open one scroll, staring at the writings detailing dark rituals, Malvior’s signature, sketches of the raid on Briarhowl. “You,” she murmured. “You burned our home. You sewed hatred into my tongue.” “General Coren Moonveil… Luna Lyara… are they my family?” Her scream shattered the already cracked sky. She ran—not toward safety, but toward the enemy. The black wizards in the distance were startled, then laughed. Almost simultaneously, they stopped laughing.

He steps in front of me, shielding me from view as the village teems around us. I glance up from the pages without reading a single word. My senses settle the second I spot Fallon surrounded by a semi-circle of women–Lunas, by the looks of them. Some I recognize, some are new, but Fallon commands them all. It’s amazing to me how someone so small can demand so much attention, and the Lunas are, in fact, attentive, drinking in every word she says. I look back down at the journal. “We were correct,” I tell Father, briefly meeting his eyes. “Queen Maeve and Blake confirmed that the next full moon will also be a lunar eclipse.”

Then Aurora did something impossible, she reached for Zane, her tiny hand glowing. "Dada," she said clearly. The room went silent. Newborns didn't speak. It was impossible. Atlas giggled, actually giggled, and repeated, "Dada." "By the Moon Goddess," the healer whispered. "They've chosen him. They've overridden their blood father and chosen their true father." Zane's eyes were wet as he gathered both babies carefully. "My children," he said firmly. "In all ways that matter." Through the window, the full moon shone brilliantly. But then something strange happened, a second moon appeared beside it, smaller, golden.

In fact it made her even more sad. She heard one of the ladies whispering to Ryder and telling him that she would be alright and he would have his sister bacck soon. To just be patient. She was grieving just as he was, but that everyone greived in a different way. She continued to gaze at the night sky and sighed. Then she noticed it, suddenly her eyes widened. Blood on the moon!

Zero smiled at her then looked at the sky. "Thank you." Said Zero while looking at the sky. Moon still can't speak, because it's been more than a month since it last appeared to her. “Thank you for fulfilling the request of mine. "Zero said then looked at Moon. "I thought ... You're not going to show me anymore." Moon said and suddenly hugged Zero, Zero smiled and hugged Moon. "I'm watching you, I know your every move, you can't even see me, but I can see you." Zero said then turned to Moon and wiped away the tears.
