Moon Man Book Novels & Stories

I search through the books, using the shelves to slide the ladder around. I don't recognize any of them but one captures my attention. I grab it, sliding down the ladder. I head over to where Angel is lounging in a hammock and climb up beside her. The hammock is extremely soft. I lay down in it, propping the book up on my knees. "What book is that?" Angel asks me, peering over at the cover. "The History of Moon Wolves," I tell her and she looks at me funny. "Why would you need that? What don't you know about your own kind?" she scoffs.

I replied, staring back at both of them. Selene fell back on her chair, face twisted in annoyance. Mr Lucas stood up, walked inside and few seconds later, he walked out. In his hand was a huge book, it seemed old and had this eerie feeling. “What’s that?” I asked, stretching my neck to read what was written on the cover page but it was written in a strange language. “This,” He replied with a weird grin on his face as he dropped the heavy book on the floor. “Is the book of prophecies. In here contains all prophecies that has been released by the moon goddess.” He explained, glancing from I to Selene.

Holding tightly onto the book, he walked back to his bedroom. "Here…" He said as he opened up the book. It was filled with writings of the Moon language. "Can you read this?" Roman asked, with a frown on his face. "Where did you get this?" She asked, glancing at the book in one second and then she glanced back at Roman. "My grandfather used to teach me the Moon Language when I was little. Unfortunately, my sister never got to learn." Roman explained. "Read this." He ordered and stretched the book toward her.

The two pills were in the shape of a full moon and it reminded him of the story Nathan had once shared when they were still a child. “Hey. Have you ever heard a story called ‘Moon Lovers’?” A child-like voice rang into his ears. Chris turned around before shaking his head innocently, “What is it about? That ‘Moon Lovers’ story?” Five-year-old Nathan grinned before he pulled out a picture book from his bag and flipped open the page, “The story was about the moon and a normal man.” The picture book had a drawing of a full moon shining brightly on the sky with an unnamed man standing directly below the full moon with a smile.

When the day started getting darker, I put down my books and decided to go outside for some air while Bella had already fallen asleep with her books in her palms. I walked to the back of the room building and sat on the floor, taking a deep breath, when suddenly the moon shone really bright over me. I curled up, the lights trying to control me while I tried to control myself. "Moon goddess, I can't get caught, or I will be killed!" I muttered helplessly and before I could open my eyes again, the lights calmed down and almost vanished into the sky. "Remember me?" Black gems encrusted the moon, making it beautiful in an eerie kind of way. “It’s so pretty,” Aisling murmured; the gems caught the light that crept through the window. As soon as I touched the moon, it was like my hands had a mind of their own. I picked up the moon and pushed it into the indention on the book. A distinct click emanated from the book. I pressed two fingers to the moon and turned it counterclockwise until the latch on the book was removable. “Brigid! Aisling!” I heard Papa calling from downstairs, but I couldn’t stop.

"Have you ever heard about the story of the Moon Guardian?" This is just getting even more exciting. Flynn likes stories and novels. That's the same reason why she collects books. She smiles, "I haven't." She answers. "But I would like to hear about it." "I have a book here. It's a novel based on the Moon Guardian's life that was written almost 700 years ago." She says, taking out a black book that looked like a journal. “Actually, I don’t think it’s a novel. I would call it a journal but people call it a novel.”

I’d have gladly walked into its yawning gullet at that moment. “It’s a very interesting book, Doon,” continued Maurice. “It’s the story of Muad’Dib, the mouse that hides from the sun and travels in the cool night.” “Sounds a bit boring,” said Flossie. “Do you think we could delay this week’s Book Club until we get out of this mess?” I requested in my most reasonable voice. Stay calm, wait for first light, and then make our way back to the lake, possibly to drown myself and get it all over with. “Just keep quiet and don’t make any sudden movements.”

I pressed it gently, and a small compartment creaked open. Inside was a worn, leather-bound book. Dust covered it like a veil. On the front, the faint outline of a moon glimmered when the light hit it. The Moon Book. Jorge had once mentioned it...the old records of prophecies and bloodlines. I thought it was just one of his old stories meant to keep me hopeful during the worst nights. I sat on the nearest chair, brushing the dust away. The leather was cracked, soft at the corners. My fingers trembled as I opened it.

I hesitate briefly. "Ethan's the only one still waiting." Luna's smile deepens, fond instead of amused. "You know," she says softly, "the Moon Goddess plans far ahead. Long before any of us are born." I look at her quietly. "Do you really think it's coincidence?" she continues gently. "That the people meant to support you and keep you grounded would end up exactly where you need them most?" She gestures lightly around the packhouse. "How do you think this life would've felt if you'd come here completely alone?"
