, Jackson pointed to the two piles of books and scrolls with a brisk jerk of his chin, while hurriedly taking one pile himself. Shay walked over to grab one of the piles left on the table, accidentally knocking down an ancient scroll that unraveled slightly as it hit the floor. Bending down she picked the scroll up, noticing as she did so the image of two moons illuminating the sky and reflecting their perfect spheres over the surface of a crystal clear lake. Confused, she turned to the professor not quite looking at him, still fascinated with the thing in her hands. “The curse of the two moons…but that’s a bedtime story, why would they need this?” Shay blurted out.

The two pills were in the shape of a full moon and it reminded him of the story Nathan had once shared when they were still a child. “Hey. Have you ever heard a story called ‘Moon Lovers’?” A child-like voice rang into his ears. Chris turned around before shaking his head innocently, “What is it about? That ‘Moon Lovers’ story?” Five-year-old Nathan grinned before he pulled out a picture book from his bag and flipped open the page, “The story was about the moon and a normal man.” The picture book had a drawing of a full moon shining brightly on the sky with an unnamed man standing directly below the full moon with a smile.

They all starting walking to the dining hall for breakfast. Sonya opened the gift from her parents while they were walking. She was surprised to find a book titled ‘Moon Goddess Legends and Lore”. It was a beautifully leather-bound book with a moon on the cover which seemed to be almost popping off of it. “Thank you. This is beautiful! I cannot wait to read this.” Sonya exclaimed, hugging each of her parents. “We knew you would like this book since you are always interested in legends. This has some really interesting ones.” Beta Reginald stated matter of factly with a smile on his face.

The Book of the Moon was one of the things that had driven a deep wedge between wolves and witches, a relic of power snatched away in a time of strife. To retrieve it would be nearly impossible and dangerously provocative. The book was believed to hold all the secrets of how to draw power from the moon. It was also something that could endanger the lives of all wolves. I had never seen the book. I didn’t even know if it was a real thing to me. It just sounded like something of stroys that our parents told us.

“When I was small, my parents told me stories about moon-blessed children. Pairs of wolves marked by Luna herself for a special purpose.” Zane opens the ancient book, carefully turning brittle pages until he finds what he’s looking for. He spins it around to face us. The illuminated manuscript shows two wolves, one midnight black, one silver, standing beneath a crescent moon. Behind each wolf’s ear is a small, glowing mark identical to the ones Zane and I share.

Mira I have read about that pack in a book, the book was hiding in my father's study, and me being a bookworm I sneak into his study and read it but I didn't know that the once scary black heart pack in the book was real. I didn't know that it was in reality that it was our pack that they were talking about in the book, this is the book that I read when I was a kid. The journey of the moonlight pack which is now our pack, the crystal mountain pack, went through a tough time with the black heart pack and that's where the bright moon pack emerged when they assisted my father's pack to save his pack though everything was destroyed and they still won.

Shelves stretched high, packed with leather-bound books that looked older than the pack itself. I pulled one down at random, thick, dark cover stamped with a crescent moon. We turn at the same time to see Luka stepping out from the forest, his gold-tinted curls blowing about his face, his brown eyes wide with wonder at the sight of the river. He walks past, still not seeing us. Darius and I look at each other, then scramble up to follow him. Luka stops at the top of the river embankment. He passes his hand over his eyes. When he drops his hand again, he opens his eyes and they are a milky grey colour. The glow disappears from the sky and in the darkness a full moon rises. Not just any moon. I recognize this moon. So pale, so clear, it appears as if behind a layer of ice. The first full moon of the new year. The Wolf Moon.

It took my parents, Drae and his father a total of almost five hours to find me. "I won't. See you in thirty minutes, Draven." Then I click the red button on my phone, ending the call. After shoving my phone back into my pocket, I pull out my favorite book 'The Bad Boy's Oath' and begin reading it. If my parents or anyone found out I read this genre of books. Books about werewolves and the Moon Goddess... I would be sent to the loony bin to be locked up for the rest of my life. Werewolves have been extinct for a century now. After our ancestors wiped them all out because of their abilities. More importantly, what a handful of them had done to thousands of innocent lives with those abilities.
