I asked pointing towards the box. He walked to stand in front of me, "This is for you," he lifted the box slightly. "Open it," he nodded with his head. I slowly lifted the lid of the box and a small gasp escaped from my lips as I looked at the wind chime in the box. A smile instantly made its way on my face as I touched the cold surface with my fingers. It made a soft noise when I tried to remove it from the box. There were three golden rectangular tubes in the middle with small stars and moons dangling around them unevenly. The moons represented every shape of the moon while the stars were shining brightly around it.

Everyone was in a rush but why? "What's going on?" I asked them. They stared at me with the look it's a mess out. "You didn't check the news did you?" Scott asked. I shake my head in denial. What was there to check anyways. I don't have time for news and all. "Look, " he said switching the news channel on the TV. " Breaking News: Kayden Moonlight from the Band name Moonlight is spotted at MC Hospital with a female patient, who seems to be in serious condition ."

I leaned against the stone railing some. "It's impressive." He looked at me. "You're quieter than most people in your spot." "What do you mean?" "Most new Lunas would want attention," he said. "Or complain about how they're treated." I shrugged. "I'm used to being ignored." The words came out before I could stop them. Kael's eyes got sharper. "Silvermoon treated you badly." Not really a question. I looked out at the trees. "They had their reasons." "What reasons?" I hesitated. How could I explain years of whispers, insults, and cold looks?

"Blood Moon?" Tara nearly drops the plate onto the table. "Blood Moon what?" Aiden pinches the bridge of his nose. Alpha Marcus sighs quietly. "Well." "That information was going to spread eventually." Ryan stares at me slowly. "...You're kidding." I gesture vaguely. "Surprise." Hunter whistles under his breath. "That explains the mating ball." Lizzie tilts her head. "The room shaking?" Ryan looks back at me. "That was you?" I shrug. "Apparently."

But, it's actually an eclipse of the sun, where the moon goddess and the sun god would meet and —" "Wait a minute," Jessica muttered, cutting me off. "There's a sun god?" She asked.

The Moon Festival arrived like a held breath finally released. From the moment the sun dipped below the horizon, Moonshine College transformed. Strings of silver lights were draped between ancient oak trees, glowing softly like captured starlight. Lanterns shaped like crescent moons floated gently above the open grounds, swaying with the breeze. Music drifted through the air, mixing with laughter, excitement, and the hum of supernatural energy that always accompanied a full moon. Everyone was happy and excited except Lily.
