Jeremy stepped into the darkness outside, where the moon in the sky emitted a pale light. The moon wasn't perfectly round, and the moonlight wasn't particularly bright. However, without the window to block its path, the moonlight fell directly onto Jeremy's body, casting an eerie glow over him. He gazed intently at the moon as if possessed by it. He couldn't hear the night's wind or the chirping of insects. All his senses were focused on the moon above.

Every hair along his shoulders rose. His lips peeled back in a silent snarl. Not at Kael. Not at the trees. At the sky. Rowan looked up. The moon had changed. A thin veil of clouds drifted across it, tinting the light a pale crimson. No… Not crimson. Silver. I followed the path, and soon it spilled out onto the Standing Stones. Seven stones stood in a circle, and mosaic tiles had been set in a circular fashion to the center, where the image of the Moon Goddess was etched on the center circular tile.
