Aele says to the attendant. "Mother Aele, I honestly feel like the best way to find out when and how the Moon was stolen would be to speak to the guards who stood watch over the moon for the past 14 days." He says wisely. "Why 14 days though?" Another attendant asks. "I.. I.. say 14 days… be… because it takes 14 days for the moon goddess to go into a coma if anything happens to the moon." The attendant stutters shyly. "He is quite right, Mother Aele! According to the Book of the Moonicles, the moon goddess shall fall into a deep, unnatural sleep if the moon is absent for the space of 14 days." About twenty-one years ago, there was a massive civil war between the werewolf packs in the U.S. The trios—where Selene, our Moon Goddess and creator, mated three wolves together instead of the traditional two—were making a comeback after being hunted nearly to extinction. And plenty of wolves weren’t happy about that. Civil war broke out. We won. Trios were allowed to exist again.

“It’s not missing. It’s the phase of the moon, dear.” Luna looked up again. “Phase?” “Hm. Just like you. You’re a kid now, and then after years, you’ll turn into the woman that you’re destined to be.” Irma gave birth to a girl under a blood moon, strengthening Sebastian’s claim that their daughter Luna was indeed the child in the prophecy. But Sebastian was hesitant to tell his pack. He was afraid that they would take their daughter away if the alpha learned about it. So, they decided to live in secret deep in the woods. I leaned back on the chair, reading further and my eyes stopped at a particular paragraph. “If the moon born was a male, he would be capable of child birth.” A soft, forced chuckle escaped my lips. What a load of crap! These stories were interesting, but this particular one was crazy. But it didn't stop me and I read further and it said that a thousand years ago, after the death of the last moon born Omega, every record of the Moonborn legacy vanished.

Chapter: 11. ****** After a long and torturous silence, Colleen muttered. "He-He is a god!" "...Is that even possible?" Dom finally managed to say in disbelief. "It is indeed, Dominic, but it took him ten thousand years to come full circle." "Full circle?" He asked again, his voice cracking. "To be Mated," "Te-Ten thousand!" Colleen squeaked.

Dozens of them. Watching. Blinking. Hungry. A horrifying roar echoed through the sanctuary. Luna's face lost all color. "Impossible..." Kael growled. "What is that?" The First Moonborn answered without taking her eyes off the creature. "A General." Silence followed. "A General?" Luna nodded. "One of the Devourer's highest servants." She looked toward Elara. "Three thousand years ago, there were twelve." The room fell silent. "If one has awakened..."

She decided to trust in the furious man before her. "I don't know," she admitted quietly. "All I know is someone named me Rayne and I am a wildcat of either the leopard or jaguar variety. I'm not even sure which as both can breed a black panther and that's what my cat is when I shift. I've been alive for over three thousand years and in all that time I've never met another being like me. Until I came here." They stared at her in surprise some of the animosity slipping away in the stunned silence but only for a moment.
