The next full moon was three days off. Three long days to make a choice about whether or not I’d be willing to risk my pack for a child who wasn’t blood of my blood but was mine in very way that counted. I started to leave, the air in the den clotting my throat, but Mara’s voice stopped me in my tracks. “Choose carefully, Derrick. Power is a heavy crown, but love is heavier.”

She sighed as she pondered the responsibilities that will befall her as the new queen of their tribe starting tomorrow. (Flashback) Werewolves were cheerfully celebrating the Queen's 108th birthday in the large yard of her home in the heart of the woodland of Montgomery. Aside from the moonlight, lanterns hung from trees, poles, and banners provided additional illumination to the dark surroundings.

Liam offered the blanket as we were sitting on the balcony watching the stars. " This is how it all began you know!" " Why is that?" I ask. " Well, it was this 19-years old girl. Which was drunk... However, despite the cold night and seemingly uneventful and typical night, it did little to stop the group of in love individuals to enjoy the place; love was in the air. Everything about the place spoke romance. From the benches and lamp post, up from the stars in the sky and down the pale glow of the moon at the pavements, the overall ambience within the mountain that served as a lover's park was nothing but romantic.
