Louisa's POV "Is that a..." "Amazing, right? You just can't take your eyes off it." I looked at the image in the catalog. It was a headless statue made of precious moonstone. Decades ago, Alpha Shay from the Aberrant Canines sent seven maidens to blast the entire Kanz Mountain into an ocean of fire. From that one, the moonstone mines were sealed permanently, which was why moonstones were really scarce and precious. "But it's broken. Where's the head?" I asked.

The silver had been made to look to the yew tree we stood at, the branches wrapping around stone that had been made to look like a moon. “It’s a celestite stone. Go on, take it, it’s for you.” I was about to reach for it when I realized something, “it’s silver?”

In just a couple more seconds, she’d be done, and the choice would literally be out of her hands forever. Nya pulled the Heart of Magic from her bag, and the ruby red gemstone gleamed in the light, catching the red that streamed in the windows from the artificial glow outside, making the scarlet color even deeper. It was entrancing, this magical rock, and the idea that she should just put it back in her bag and go home crossed her mind. Then, she thought of Slate, thought of the kiss they’d shared, and no longer wanted to keep it at all. Nya took the stone and inserted it into the chest, ready to drop it onto the plush looking red pillow laying there.

Behind me, Everett opened a cabinet, ‘Wow, you should see this. Pushing myself to my feet, I strolled over and gasped at the sight of a stunning diadem, entirely silver and with the same swirling design as my amulet, but instead of a black stone, in the centre was a teardrop-shaped moonstone, with smaller and circular moonstone accenting the crown all around. It was simple but elegant, and I knew instantly that this was the crown of a Luna, a true Luna. ‘It’s beautiful,’ I whispered and then sighed, ‘but I don’t think this is it either.’
