She carried a small velvet box in her hands.
“You didn’t have to call me that,” I teased, smiling faintly.
“I know,” she said, grinning back. “But I wanted to be the first.”
She held out the box. Inside was a delicate crown, silver and moonstone, its centerpiece shaped like a crescent moon cradling a single tear-shaped crystal.
“The crown,” I murmured, touching it reverently.
Mira nodded. “Forged from the same silver used for the boundary stones. It’s said to protect against dark magic.”
