Then she looked away and walked toward the door. The sisters followed. The first one, the vocal one, with her jaw set and her chin raised, performing dignity over something that was clearly shaking. The quiet one last, pausing once at the threshold as if she might turn back, then deciding against it. Sterling didn't move. "That means you too," Mr. Thorne said, without looking at his son.

Hearing that this woman is the daughter of the guy who's willing to sell off her woman just to stay in the city riles him up. Hillary felt the hair behind her nape stood up. She felt more and more uncomfortable the longer Mr. Thorne stare at her. She unconsciously took a step closer to Maeve's back and held on to her sister's coat like a kid hiding behind her mom. Maeve slightly glanced at her scared sister before she licked her bottom lip in irritation. "September," she called out which caught September's attention. He immediately tried to hide the threatening smile on his face after hearing his name left her lips. His left brow rose in a questioning manner.
