It was supposed to be a joke, but it stung, because it was true, but not in the way she meant. Maybe I was a whore, but I was also a coward, and that stung worse. I scanned every passing face, equal parts terrified and hopeful that I’d see Levi lurking around a corner. He didn’t show. Instead, I got the usual parade of groggy sophomores, psych majors in sweats, and one guy riding a unicycle past the science building while eating a bagel. This campus was so aggressively normal that any hint of danger felt like a hallucination.

NIRVANA'S POV I sat on the cold concrete bench outside the campus library, pulling my denim jacket tight against the evening chill. I was supposed to be reviewing notes for my art history midterm, but the textbook sat unopened in my lap. My mind was completely stuck in a loop. I kept seeing the wet smear of blood on the heel of Ronan’s motorcycle boot. I kept hearing the word shipment falling from Iris’s mouth in the quiet kitchen. The boring bubble of my college life had popped. I was living with dangerous men, and the anxiety of not knowing the truth was making my stomach ache.

Monday came faster than I'd anticipated. And with it meant the first day of school. When I stepped foot into the campus, I was hit with the nauseous stench of werewolves and the delicious scent of humans and witches. It's been a while since I fed. Seeing all these youths—full of life and vitality—gathered around made my cravings spike up. Perhaps I'll find a human to snack on without killing them later. I looked around aimlessly until I had no choice but to ask a human girl for directions.

Lilac's P.O.V Standing on the UCSD campus, I looked around the area as several new students walked past me with huge luggage bags, and I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and trepidation bubbling in my chest. This was a whole new chapter in my life, and I was about to step into a world I had only ever dreamed of. The last four years, the entirety of my high school life, had been spent in a school where wolves were a majority. But now, I was entering a university where the supernatural world expanded far beyond just wolves.

This campus is full of girls who cry in bathroom stalls and boys who apologize for breathing too loud near River. Then she shows up and starts collecting enemies like she’s building a brand.” He points his fry at Knox. “Most people here would sell a kidney to be left alone by us. She got the full treatment and still walked out like the cafeteria owed her an apology.”

“Can someone tell me what’s so fascinating? Go livestream your own humiliation for once.” But nobody stopped, if anything, more students gathered, hungry for blood and drama, their faces alight with curiosity, a few whispering “mate war” and “freak show” like it was a sports event. My life had officially become a circus and I didn’t even get a costume.

"What about you? You look like you just watched your own funeral." I explained my own little pathetic story. Told him how I'd gone and fucked everything up in ways that I doubted could ever be fixed. Home is my hell but I never thought that the college which I call my sanctuary could become another hell for me. Every student has a video in which Brad was humiliating me, they were looking at their phone and then at me, whispering bad things. It hurts. I was unable to take all those vicious looks from them so I ran to the backside of the campus where no one would come as this area is secluded.

“Okay.” Class ended just as quickly as it started, and the day moved on with a breeze. The campus was buzzing to prepare for the blood moon today. Some were planning wild parties on campus. Wolves that weren’t going home were planning a hunt on campus with the she-wolves. The sirens were taking potions to keep themselves from drowning anyone tonight. They didn’t mind the signing and fucking, just not to the killing.
