I stared at the screen not paying it much attention. Instead, my mind was hyper-focused on what had just happened. Was I reading into this too much? Probably. Zack was a very loyal guy so it was probably just a friendly peck on the head. Yeah, that's what it was, a friendly kiss on the head given to me by my best and only friend. My best friend, damn my life. You can say that again.

Will, he going to kiss her? "Athalia. You're here!" Charles called Athalia. He approached them. "Hi, I'm Charles. Athalia's new friend." He held out his right hand to Luke. Luke accepted Charles' handshake. "I'm Luke, Athalia's Best Friend since childhood." Luke introduces himself to Charles. She was surprised by what he said. Best friend? Did she hear it right? Or maybe, he just said that because Charles introduced himself as her friend. It hurt her to think that. She looked at him. He seemed serious about the words he uttered.

"You're officially the best person I've ever met." Luther chuckles, shaking his head as he turns onto our street. "Hope you regret bein' mean to me all damn day." I grab another fry, warmth settling into my stomach for the first time all night. "Maybe a little." "Mm-hm." "But in my defense," I add quickly, pointing a fry at him. "I was in the middle of a tiny little Menty-B." "You said I was built like an air fryer." I nearly inhale the fry in my mouth.

"Take care, okay? I will call you to know if I will drop by or not." "Okay. You too take care." He smiled at me before walking out the door. And as he left, my room suddenly became empty, but I was comforted by his scent that was still strong and embedded on my shoulders and clothes. I rested back against the headboard, with my eyes closed. I had finally found a word, or rather words, to describe this weird feeling of mine—I was falling for my best friend, Liam!
