The Substitute Luna
“Your mommy is a housewife, that’s why she can cook. But I, Helena, have my own career. I don’t have time to cook. You two are good pups, you will understand, right?”
Helena’s voice was gentle, but there was an obvious hatred beneath it.
The twin pups looked at each other. They were a bit unhappy but didn’t say anything. They just nodded.
Helena then brought two glasses of red liquid from the kitchen.
“I’m so sorry, I really can’t cook,” she said, “but today I will treat you two with a delicious kind of juice. And I can buy you any snacks or sweets you want.”
The strawberry flavor masked the smell of alcohol, as well as the scent of herbs.
