“Thank you, I will.” I called an Uber and put in Tristan’s address. I would confess my love and pray that it was enough for him to leave that corny-ass dude. I picked up his favorite candy, Twizzler Pull and Peel, his favorite tea, an Arizona Watermelon, and a bag of sour cream and onion chips.

I rushed over to the table, my fingers trembling slightly as I picked up one of the tamarind candies. The familiar, tangy flavor burst in my mouth as I started devouring them, each bite bringing a wave of joy and nostalgia. I let out a deep moan and was it me or did I hear a curse somewhere nearby? I pushed that away. Who could have done this? The thought flickered through my mind, but I pushed it aside for now, simply reveling in the unexpected happiness of the moment. The combination of lilies and tamarind candies was so personal, so thoughtful, it felt like a dream come true.

I’m going to try this one!” I started, pulling down the Cadbury Dairy Milk Popcorn flavoured block, “I am happy to share this one and if I hate it you get all of it,” I said, he smiled at me, “Ok, deal.” He replied, spotting my favourite block, which is the Cadbury Dairy Milk Crunchie flavoured block, “Ooo they have my favourite one!” I said excitedly, he looked surprised by that, “Really? Crunchie hey?” He asked.

Jessy smiled widely. "Uh, no. We’re obsessed with each other." I furrowed my brow to hide the blush spreading across my warm cheeks. "Well, call it true love then." Jessy shrugged. Suddenly, Jessy took out a small glass jar with a golden lid decorated with a red ribbon. He opened the jar and took out chocolate chip cookies. "Want some?" he offered. "No. I’m still on a diet, but I feel like I’ve seen that jar before." I frowned, my eyes squinting suspiciously.

Ethan was the center of everyone’s attention in high school. He was handsome, had good grades, and won practically every competition he took part in. Plenty of people had a crush on him, but most of them did not dare to confess. I was the only one who did and continued pestering him even after he rejected me multiple times. In the beginning, he rejected me by saying that he wanted to focus on studying, but later on, he got annoyed by me constantly bothering him and blatantly stated that he was irritated by my very presence.

At the welcome party, I was well-dressed. Word had already spread that Nigel’s crush was back, and people were curious to see the woman he had loved for so many years.
