Who could put up with a jinx like you?" A wave of intense nausea rolled through my empty stomach, a bitter lump forming in my throat. I couldn't throw up or swallow it. The ten-year-old Diana, the 17-year-old Diana... I had spent years trying to fuse all those cherished versions of her into the woman standing before me.

A smile slowly tugged at the corner of my mouth. He had finally shown himself. At that moment, shards from the broken tube in the inner pocket near my chest pierced into my flesh, sending a sharp pain through me. My vision went black, and I passed out completely.

The journey of Shadrach, Wynter, and the others has come to its beautiful conclusion, and I have no intentions of returning to continue their story. As much as I’m sad to close this chapter, I know it’s time for me to move on to new beginnings.

I ask her. She looks down and turns away from me. “There’s no reason to be ashamed. We all have bad dreams.” I state. “It’s not a bad dream it’s a Deja reve. I heard the clicking of camera shutters, but no one called the ambulance. My blood drained dry. My body became cold. Finally, Yvette Skye was no more. I died all alone at the corner of the street. No one cared. My corpse was not a pretty sight. My eyes were wide, unseeing, and there was a large hole in my stomach. My legs were twisted together. One of my arms was flung by the side of the road. My legs were useless now. I was ugly. No wonder the little girl cried. Floating in the air, I stared at my mutilated corpse.

I said to him. “Who is she?” “I don’t know, I’ve never seen her before, but in the dream I knew I loved her, I felt my soul dying as I held her lifeless body in my arms,” I said to him. “Where did you bury me?” he asked and I looked at him. “What the fuck kind of question is that?” I asked him. “I’m just curious,” he said. “I buried your heart with Mom,” I said and he smiled at that.
