As a matter of fact, it works against it. Your brain tells you one thing and your heart tells you another. Just like how my brain is telling me to refrain from going to the palace because I have an excuse of a party and my heart is telling me to go even if its just to get a glance of her from afar and leave before anyone notices. My heart pleads a strong case but I don’t trust it enough to be satisfied with just a glance. It’ll end up wanting more and not getting it then coming back home feeling self pity.

I felt my heart founding and it actually hurt. I placed my hand on the left side of my chest where I believe the heart is located and listened to the beat. Such an odd feeling... I lay back on the bed, closed my eyes and went to sleep.

It smelled like rain and mint gum. | was breathing heavily now, my heart pounding harder and harder. His eyes were trained solely on my lips, then wandered back to my eyes. His lips brushed lightly against mine and | sucked in a breath, my lips tingling. | suddenly tilted my head sideways and looked away from him. Pushing his body away, | got up hurriedly and stepped out of the ring. "Where are you going?" he asked, climbing down after me.

I would rather use the mind than the heart because I realized that my heart was too fragile and easy to melt so now, I made sure that I’m using the brain over my heart. Brain before heart is better than hurt before regret…
