I’ve hated him since freshman year. Tyler. The school bully. Twenty-one now, same as me, but built like he owns the gym and the hallway. Tall, wide shoulders, cocky smirk that makes my blood boil. Dark hair always messy, jaw sharp, arms covered in faint scars from fights he never loses. He used to shove me into lockers, call me names, steal my shit. Lately the shoving feels different. Lingers. Why would anyone bully someone so relentlessly, then years later claim he had thought about them? He was insane. My words slipped out before I could hold them back. “Why are you even saying that? I was bullied a lot in high school for being so clumsy, but now it was merely spectacular and I couldn't care less about the opinions of others.

She was tiny but mighty and a force to reckoned with. I remember this one specific time in high school, there was this campus bully. He pretty much wreaked havoc on just about anyone for any reason. There was a new victim every day. And one day, he decided to pour a gallon of water over Grace’s head for standing in his way unknowingly. We were in the lunch line and he felt that she was an obstacle in his path. I remember seeing Grace’s eyes welt up with tears and I could see Jessie’s start to fire up. She quickly made a plan to put the scariest thing she could think of (a live tarantula from the biology lab) in his locker.
