Her voice was confident as she went on, "Veronica, make no mistake. This apartment belongs to the Campbells. It was Noah's. Now that he's gone, it belongs to us. I can change the locks whenever I want." I raised my voice and shot back, "My mom bought this apartment for me! The deed is in my name. This whole time, your entire family has been freeloading here!" Emerald’s face turned pale. I, on the other hand, pretended as if nothing was wrong. I picked up the microphone and invited everyone to start eating. “What are you waiting for? Dig in. Do none of you like this flavor?” Emerald’s expression kept changing. In the end, she could no longer hold back and questioned me in a high-pitched voice, “Jonathan, you’ve got to be kidding me! You’re serving instant noodles at a wedding banquet?!”

The last bit of hope I had quietly died. I clenched my fists tightly. It seemed that I needed to pay a visit to his mansion. The next day, Grace left for work at six in the morning as usual. After she left, I asked a friend to babysit Jack and went to Cloud Mansion. The mansion looked like a castle. There were a garden and a balcony, even a sunroom on the third floor.
