Steep white stilettos. My blonde hair was drawn back into a snatched ponytail, so tight it was virtually a club. Praise God for glue and high-tech wig science, really, or my little secret would have gone sky-high months ago. Concealed under my jacket, I had on a sharp white crop top — crisp, plain, cutting. And the tie? Oh, sweetie, it was accessorized within an inch of its life. Princess Bubblegum pin. A pink bow duo. White Hello Kitty. And a dash of sparkly nonsense.

You will know my child by the mark they make when they lay claim, A full moon with a sword emblazoned with Selene’s name.” She recites effortlessly.

Her freckles weren’t very visible because of the light makeup they put on her face, but overall, if someone stared at her, it would show the small dots of freckles from the bridge of her nose until they were scattered on her cheeks. Erina saw the door getting opened until Celestia, the mother of Arden she was expecting to see to tell her some words again, finally showed up wearing her fancy long gown, tight ponytail hair, and strict expression. She walked towards Erina and settled behind her, just like she had appeared the day before the party had begun. The servant bowed its head and dismissed herself as Celestia looked at Erina’s full image in the mirror. "Wow. I almost didn’t recognize th

“Emma, mates are not by choice. It’s in your DNA. You are his perfect match. Selene made it so” My mom had talked about Selene from time to time but I wasn’t aware of the whole ‘mate’ thing. “Em, I tried telling you gently that he is our mate. This is a good thing! You will be a luna!”. I choked on Morg’s words. A luna?! Oh dear lord. I can’t even pick an outfit, let alone run a pack. Once again, grace could see the struggle on my face.

The water splashed the ink all over but there was supposed to be sign of the whirlpool. “ Children let's go in. I am the last phoenix.” I watch as her palms turn up and red and gold flames dance. She opens her mouth, and a shriek comes out instead of a scream. The shriek of a phoenix.

“Of course, grandmother. Thank you for the invitation, but I'm not quite comfortable exploring just yet.” Celestia smiles, her kind eyes reflecting wisdom. “That's perfectly fine, my dear. Sir Luca, could we have a moment?” Luca inclines his head in acknowledgment, and the old woman leads him outside Sera’s room. They walk together to the expansive living room before Celestia finally speaks. “She’s a member of the Purple Pack, isn’t she?” Luca’s eyes darken at her words, and he confidently takes a seat, as though the house belongs to him.
