I saw Lucian step back, sweat gathering on his forehead despite his attempt to remain composed.

One I didn’t even know I had. I wanted him to go on but then he broke the kiss way too soon leaving me breathless and starving for more. He looked me in the eyes, his red orbs still glowing. “Let me reintroduce myself. I am Lucian Moonstone, The lycan king of the Bloodmoon pack; one of the deadliest packs in the world and you Tessa Howling, is my mate.”

I could see the fear in Elijah’s eyes when he whispered in Father’s ear. Father’s gaze turned serious, almost sinister as he stared ahead, taking in the news. I had never seen Father make that expression before and I knew I would forever remember it. “What happened, honey?” Mother reached out to touch his hand, snapping him out of his daze. He turned to her and uttered only one sentence. “The Lycan king has been killed.”. Everywhere fell slient and Mother’s hand shot up and covered her mouth as we all stared in shock.
