"Please... fill me with your dick," she pleaded, her voice breaking. "Valerius, please." Aria’s weak wolf was never supposed to wake up. But when a dark magic attack shakes the palace, her secret powers burst to life, triggering her very first heat. Her body is on fire, desperate and begging for her mate. King Valerius tries to resist. He stares at her as she pouts, pulling off her tunic and playing with her pink, flower-bud nipples. His member strains hard against his trousers, but he fights his roaring instincts, not wanting her first time to be a frantic blur. Then Aria slides off her underwear, opens her legs, and starts touching her wet, swollen entrance. Seeing her hand coming away glistening and slick breaks his iron control. He mutters a rough "fuck," drops to his knees, and slides two fingers inside her tight heat before driving his massive length fully into her. With five ruthless noble women fighting for his bed and the high council plotting against him, Valerius will do anything to protect one truth: the quiet, weak girl everyone laughed at is his true Queen. PG-18 werewolf romance filled with dark secrets, ruthless rivals, a possessive King, and hot, explicit scenes.

Chapter 1: Elevated Shadows

Aria woke up on the third day to the sickening scent of stale lilies and silk sheets.

Her head throbbed, a dull, agonizing ache pulsing deep beneath her ribs. It was a physical scar left by a bond she had never even been given the chance to claim.

"Oh, good. You're awake," Eleanor said smoothly, stepping into the bedroom. Her mother was draped in a tailored velvet dress far more expensive than anything their family usually wore, holding a glass of iced water she didn't bother offering to Aria.

Aria pushed herself up, her skin pale, her small wolf shivering in silence deep inside her. "What happened to me?"

"You had a fainting spell," Eleanor dismissed with a waved hand. "A violent reaction to a severed link. Alpha Kieran realized six days ago that the Moon Goddess marked you as his mate. But given your weak wolf and lack of standing, he exercised his right to reject the bond before it fully tethered. He chose your sister, Isabelle, instead."

The news hit like a bucket of ice water, but the true sting came next.

"We didn't wake you because we wanted you to rest," Eleanor added, adjusting her diamond earrings in the mirror.

Aria let out a dry, bitter laugh, her voice hoarse. "You didn't want me to rest, Mother. You just didn't want me causing a scene while they had their ceremony."

Eleanor’s eyes narrowed in the glass. "Be reasonable, Aria. Isabelle is twenty-nine. She needed this match. Because of her, our family is no longer just regional nobles, we are bound directly to the Alpha’s bloodline. Kieran gave Isabelle a grand mating ceremony two nights ago while you slept. The pack has moved on. You will too."

Before Aria could process the cold betrayal, her middle sister, Mirabelle, strutted into the room holding two garment bags.

"Get up, sleeping beauty," Mirabelle smirked, throwing a dress onto the foot of Aria's bed. "The Alpha’s inner circle leaves for the capital in two hours. You’re coming with us."

"The capital?" Aria rasped.

"The Grand Sovereign Summit," Eleanor explained, her tone laced with uncharacteristic pride. "Every year, the regional Alphas gather at the Royal Citadel to negotiate territory budgets, trade rights for our human corporations, and defense strategies against the rogue wolf factions creeping past the borders. Normally, a family of our standing would never be allowed past the outer gates. But as the Luna’s family, we have been invited to the royal dinner."

"And you have to come so people don't ask why the Luna's sister is hiding," Mirabelle added maliciously. "Even if the whole pack is already whispering about how Kieran threw you away before you even knew he was yours."

Two hours later, Aria was packed into the back of a luxury SUV, forced to sit across from her brother Gideon and his wife, while Isabelle and Kieran rode in the lead car ahead.

Every glance from her family felt like a razor blade. The pack members who saw them off at the packhouse gates had stared at Aria with pity and cruel amusement, watching the broken, rejected girl dragging her feet behind her glowing, newly crowned sister.

By nightfall, the caravan passed through the massive, silver-runed gates of the Royal Citadel.

The domain of King Valerius Vane was breathtaking, built as a seamless blend of hyper-modern luxury and ancient, dark stone architecture tucked high in the misty pine mountains. Powerful shifters in tailored suits mingled with elite royal guards, while multi-million-dollar deals and supernatural defense pacts were quietly signed in grand drawing rooms.

Yet, despite his immense wealth and terrifying power, the Lycan King himself remained a ghost.

"He stepped out of the shadows three years ago to slaughter the rogue factions that attacked the eastern border," Gideon whispered to his wife as they walked into the grand ballroom. "But he never shows his face to common Alphas. He rules from the high balcony behind enchanted glass. Only his closest warlords have ever looked him in the eye."

Aria kept her head low, her dress simple compared to Isabelle’s lavish gold gown. The heavy, dominant aura of hundreds of high-ranking wolves pressing into the ballroom made her weakened wolf recoil, making her chest burn with leftover agony from Kieran's rejection.

Overwhelmed by the suffocating crowd and the mocking whispers of nearby pack members, Aria slipped away from her family, heading down a quiet, dimly lit corridor that led toward the private royal gardens to catch her breath.

She leaned against a cold marble pillar, closing her eyes as the crisp mountain air cooled her feverish skin.

"The air is cleaner out here, isn't it?" a deep, velvet voice rasped from the shadows behind her.

Aria gasped, spinning around.

Standing in the moonlight, stepped out from a private royal entrance, was a tall, broad-shouldered man in a dark tailored coat. His presence didn't just command the room, it pressed down on the entire courtyard like a physical weight, thick with dark, ancient power.

His face was partially obscured by the shadow of the terrace, but as his gaze landed on Aria’s pale face and the faint, bruised mark of a broken bond on her neck, his jaw tightened.

Aria’s weak wolf, which had been silent for three days, suddenly stirred, letting out a soft, warm breath against her chest.

"You're bleeding spiritually, little wolf," the stranger murmured, his voice laced with smooth authority as he took a single, slow step toward her. "Who dared to bring a broken bond into my home?"
