It was weird because she talked to me like she knew me, like I wasn't just some stranger. My heart was beating so hard. All these questions kept running through my head. "H-how do you know my name?" I asked very quietly, almost in a whisper. She took a deep breath and looked at the young man beside her before looking back at me. "Eva, dear, I know this is a lot to take in," she said softly. "But let me tell you who I am. My name is Helena Sinclair."

Even so, personality-wise, I was pretty normal. “Then did I pass?” I asked. “Yeah. You did,” said Eva. She patted my arm and grinned. We chatted for a few minutes and gained quite a bit of information about each other. Eva was originally from this big city and had one older brother and a mother. She liked spicy food and sometimes snores in her sleep. The sound of a cell phone ringing interrupted our conversation. Eva grabbed her phone and read the message, after which she looked at me.

Eva said in a sardonic tone. The curve of a challenged smile formed on her face. Georgia immediately raised both eyebrows, feeling intrigued by Eva. "Introductions. I'm Eva. You should know who I am because I'm one of the most popular and prettiest girls on campus." Eva introduced herself as she crossed her arms over her chest. Georgia almost burst out laughing at the way Eva introduced herself. But she tried to keep the corners of her lips from forming a mocking smile. With a calm expression on her face, Georgia simply nodded her head in understanding. Georgia stood up and looked at Eva intensely.

“I’ll like to know the ward she’s in.” She stopped and studied Eva for the first time. “What was her emergency?” “An accident?” “Name?” Eva didn’t know her full name. All she knew was Kate. “Katherine.” The nurse kept looking at her, waiting for a surname. Eva chuckled nervously. “I can’t remember her surname. I’m such a terrible friend.” The nurse didn’t respond considering she wasn’t a judge of the statement. She typed on the keyboard while her eyes remained on the screen of the computer.

Was Eva really right? “What is it?”

He slapped him on the shoulder ignoring his glare. “Just got back, and in time, I believe. What happened to our rule before man? No poaching, remember?” Matan lowered his voice, so Eliza won’t hear. She was looking at them both with questions in her eyes. Matan excused himself and Evan as he pulled his friend a bit farther. Eliza waved them away, but she didn’t remove her eyes from them. Just then, Evan’s companion approached her. “Men are silly, aren’t they? By the way, name’s Eva. I'm Evan’s twin and you are Eliza, the lady who captured his interest.” She opened offering her hand in greeting.

“I’ll call you once I’m off.” I nodded and turned to walk away. “Do you mind if I walk you down? Just until you get a cab,” the guy asked behind me. “If you want to,” I said, not bothering to look back. We walked down the quiet street together. The city felt different at night still and quiet. “I’m Ian,” he said. “I’m Evelyn. But everyone calls me Eve,” I answered flatly. “Nice. You’re new around here?” “Obviously,” I muttered, not wanting to give too much information.

He didn’t tear away his eyes at her as if there were just the two of them. “I like the color of your eyes.” He said. “They’re the color of honey.” “Thank you.” She was quite happy. No one had ever praised her for her looks. “By the way, I am Caeruleus. And you?” “My name’s Ellaine.” Now, even she can’t tear her eyes away from Caeruleus.
