She gave me all the happiness in this world, she is my life saver. It started when I got home from my meeting, even though I had a stressful day I was still unable to sleep because the house felt so lonely I was alone watching my favourite anime when a message came to my private line. I noticed its a new number, only few people around me can reach me through this line, I tried to ignore the message because I know its a wrong number but it kept coming and I felt the need to reply because whoever it is, is clearly hurt. She gave me the rare opportunity to drop some quote and you can't believe how proud that made me feel.

Day 24. It was funny how fast time went, one moment we thought the appointed days seemed far away, like they were never going to come and in another moment, they seemed way too close. Staring at the number 7 on my hand, I felt that way, had that sinking feeling to despair. I was starting to understand why people ran mad, fell into depression and had other sorts of mental issues. The things happening to me were enough to drive anyone to the brink of madness.

Madelyn exclaimed. "I know right!" I teased. She laughed. "Idiot!" "I want Maple syrup! Pleaseeee!" I pleaded. "Okay okay!!!" She sighed. "I'll bring tons of it," •••• 6 am. Wednesday, the 30th of May. A.k.a., Doomsday Today is the day. It's the day we stand up for our rights! Well, more like the day "I" stand up for... "my"... 'non-existent' rights.

Ada pointed out once the boy had ran to his class, then up the stairs to attend the assembly. "What do you mean?" Janet hummed, playing clueless. Ada was right, ever since Friday, she'd had a grin on her face, her mood was touching the sky. Even on a Monday, Janet was still on cloud nine. "Guy yarn me nah, what went down at the party?" Ada groaned, wanting to know what...or who got her best friend so happy. "You nko? You've not told me about the so called plan you tried on Ope." Janet defended, raising her brows at Ada with a smirk.

Niyati mumbled softly and took a relief of breath thinking that her child is fine. Then, Neela continued saying," You know what Mommy. Uncle brings different types of chocolates and candies for me every day. He brought so many different types of chocolates which I never tasted before." Hearing Neela, Niyati felt a sting inside her chest. Neela's words reminded her of a past incident when Niyati & Shivanah were together. Niyati's heart started beating fast and she remembered something from her past. Flashback ( " It's the 139th day after our marriage and its 139 number of flower," Niyati said smelling the flower which she has seen for the first time in her life.

For a while, I had been telling myself it was because I was smart, but now I wasn't even sure that was the case. "Can I leave now?" Nate asked, sounding hopeful. "Yes, you have two days off. You need some time to rest," I said. "You can either stay here or go somewhere else, but just make sure you're back after two days." I had noticed that Nate hadn't seemed happy lately, and I couldn't tell what was wrong. Recently, her expression has been unreadable, but now, I could vividly see relief wash over her face. I smiled to myself.

One Day at a Time I started counting again. Not in the old way, not the way I used to count bruises or nights I cried myself to sleep. I wasn’t counting losses anymore. I was counting days I woke up without dread pressing down on my chest. Days I didn’t flinch at sudden sounds. Days I spoke and didn’t hate the sound of my own voice. Today was day sixteen. Sixteen days without panic spiraling in my throat. Sixteen days of drinking tea in the morning without looking over my shoulder. Sixteen days of walking home alone and not checking behind me every block.

… 21 days later, my phone suddenly began vibrating wildly. I tapped on it and saw a barrage of intimate photos of Jocelyn and Dylan. They included the entire ceremony, their honeymoon, and everyday photos of them. There was also a disgusting message attached. "Thank you for giving us your blessing, Mel. Dylan rushed over to your place the moment he got off the plane, and I didn't have time to develop these photos for him. I'll have to trouble you to do it on my behalf." I was flummoxed. Was she crazy? Was I just part of some kind of weird game they were playing?
