No More Time Together
“These are all small things. I can fix them. If you don’t like the three of us hanging out together, then from now on, we won’t all meet up at the same time.
“Whatever else is bothering you, just tell me. I’ll change. I swear—”
I cut him off, feeling irritated.
“They’re not small things. My feelings were never small.
“Honestly, we were done a long time ago, whether you see it or not.
“Stop calling me. I really don’t want to have to change my number.”
I hung up and blocked the unfamiliar number.
I stayed busy once the semester started, and it felt good.
I joined ROTC, and before I knew it, I had gotten pretty tan in just a couple of weeks.
