I was expecting mafia books and about guns and fighting but I found romance novels, fantasy and comedy books. I was really surprised. I shrugged and pulled a book from off the shelf. It was a romance novel called "Last Breath". I didn't have books in my room and I loved reading so I sat cross legged in the middle of the room and read.

I groaned. “There's also dead body turns up and no one knows who dunnit but special detective finds clues and takes out the bad guy in the nick of time.” Ryan laughed along with me. “Hey, I like reading those.” I chuckled, “A good mystery never hurt anybody.” “I want a mystery where the serial killer takes out the detective but dies in a hit and run as he tried to flee town.” Ryan quipped, bending to study another raunchy book cover. “I'm sure there's a book with that title somewhere.” I found myself relaxing a bit more. “Now that we're talking about it, maybe that's what I'm in the mood for. A good mystery.”

I beamed. "Crazy, isn't it?" "Fucking crazy, for real." "First, we put THE DA VINCI CODE by DAN BROWN here." He picked out the book and inserted it in the center line of the shelf. He put HOW TO STOP TIME by MATT HAIG, followed by EVERGREEN by NAOMI HIRAHARA. "Then KISS THE GIRLS by JAMES PATTERSON." He put it next to the first book. "I've read that." I went on in a spur of excitement. "It's a thriller and mystery novel about a detective who's trying to track down a serial killer. So many twists and cliffhangers. Total page-turner." I giggled.

But I haven't been able to make up my mind about it yet, so I'm still on the fence. "Web novels?" Miranda repeated in surprise. "What kind of web novels?" Mindy smiled awkwardly. "Urban romance." Miranda was speechless for a while. Mindy was a published mystery novelist. Back when mystery novels had been all the craze, Mindy made her grand debut with "Murder Weapon" and sold half a million copies. Later in the same year, her follow-up thriller novel, "The Deserted School", broke her personal sales record in a very short time as well.

He was excited to read it because it had been a while since he had last read a novel like this one. Just as Dmitri was getting cozy, he heard the bell above the entrance door jingle. He didn't think anything of it. It wasn't like he was the only one who knew this place.

I've always loved mysteries; I can't remember one day where I wasn't watching Criminal Minds or Goosebumps in my room.
