It was a 3-dimensional view of a low bustling street, littered with rascals and neon lighted buildings. She zoomed in on a rundown house with a collapsed neon sign-board. “She’s staying at Chatelain Motel at the outskirts of the city. As expected, she has bad taste - and not just in men.” She met my stare with a bitter glare. Shiver me timbers. I nearly rolled my eyes. Of all places Angel could lodge in, it just had to be the shadiest part of the city. Was she that drawn to trouble, or does she think that running a million miles to the outskirts could somehow stop me from finding her?

Hearing my question, Erika immediately frowned in confusion. "Why do you suddenly want to tell a story?" asked Erika confused. "Because this story happened several hundred years ago!" I said reluctantly. Erika was silent, but after that she nodded slowly. "In the past, there was an Angel who fell in love with a human. The human could see the Angel, just like you. You know that's not a normal thing to happen, you shouldn't be able to see us. Then the angel and the human got closer and finally fell love. It was clearly against the rules of heaven, they were then punished. Some Angels I know warned me not to do the same thing. Don't make me fall in love with you. Done!"

The music began slowly, and Julia felt the knot in her stomach tighten. Her heart felt as if it had been pierced by something sharp; it dug into her, causing her pain. She suddenly clutched her chest and took an abrupt turn, one that twisted her ankle and made her spin towards the floor. Julia could feel her world turning. What exactly had she gotten herself into? Then, unexpectedly, she felt someone grab her before she could fall. She felt the strong hands cling to her waist, lifting her slowly until she was able to stand by herself.
