“You’re writing again?” Bianca didn’t look up. “No one else will tell it right.” He crossed the room, resting a hand on the back of her chair. “Why not let it rest? You’ve earned that.” “Because the truth doesn’t rest,” she said softly. “It waits. And when no one remembers, it becomes legend. Then myth. Then lie.” He studied her profile serene, resolute, fragile only in the flicker of her eyes. “And what are you writing it for?”

She spoke to him in his language, “They’re treating you like god.” Just as expected. Frankly, Zayn felt rather helpless about it. He suddenly remembered that all sorts of myths were passed down for millennia on earth. He wondered if this was how the myths came to be? When someone showed up with extraordinary abilities and was worshipped as god by the people around him, stories of this event were passed down until it became a myth with passing time. Zayn shook his head as he thought about the situation. He was planning on saying something, but he gave up on the idea after pondering for a moment.

He wrote about them based on the myths that he had heard, read, and gathered while continuing his daily life. "Van, open the door!" He groaned and got up from his seat. "What do you want? I’m writing." Van answered with no soul in his voice. He never let go of his passion for writing. Unfortunately, there was barely anyone wanting to buy any of his recent books. His patrons who used to buy his work say that his recent ones are too scary to be read as a children’s tale and too alarming to be enjoyed by adults. Still, he continued to write about those creatures unknown to men, lurking in the dark and waiting for the perfect victim.

Axlan’s Point of View Let me tell you a story about gods and monsters. Namely the former and how they disguised themselves to seem less like the latter. This story isn’t just a story, you see. It was the truth. Reality that became a rumor. Myth. Legend. But it was true, you see. Humans always had this funny way of playing off what really took place. People in power threw dirt over it to try and get the masses to follow what they wanted to believe. Sheep and wolves. An endless game of tug of war.

This journey of writing has been a voyage of self-discovery, where I have learned as much about myself as I have about the craft of storytelling.
