The New Age King // Book 2

The New Age King // Book 2

She looks me over one last time before walking off, and I grind my teeth together in aggravation. Every time I bring up my major, I get the same looks. People just assume I am a wolfbagger, but I'm not. I genuinely find supernatural history interesting. I am not studying werewolves, so I can trick a werewolf into giving me long life or mating with me. I like learning about all of them, dragons, sirens, and fairies I sigh as I collect my pile of books. I already paid my tab on the cafe's app, so there is no need to call my disgusted waitress back over. I pull my jacket on and pick up my loaded book bag.

Great quicker read overall. There were unexpected plot twists and well developed banter throughout. The author brings life to different attitudes that aren’t commonly written into novels, which I loved. My only note is that I WISH the author would write more about the lives of Sara & Tab’s pups!

Called by Fire

“Bree, what was that?” Brianna was occupied flipping through the first book, so she didn’t answer at first. He saw her shocked expression and got by her side to check the name of the book she was reading. ‘The peacemaker fallacy: waging war as a business strategy’ Nate frowned, trying to make sense out the title. “Bree, what is it?” “Love… it’s about the Council. All of them, look.” She got a few pieces of paper that didn’t belong to any book and showed him what she saw.

WILD BOOKS: A COLLECTION OF NAUGHTY STORIES

WILD BOOKS: A COLLECTION OF NAUGHTY STORIES

“Quiet doesn’t mean unbothered. Just good at hiding it.” We fell into silence. The only sound was distant thunder rumbling above ground. I wondered how long we’d be down here. Minutes stretched. My mind wandered to how close he was. How alone we were. “Tell me something,” I said finally. “Why’d you become a librarian? You don’t seem like the type who likes being stuck behind a desk all day.” Mr. Kane exhaled softly. “Books don’t talk back. They don’t expect small talk. I like the order. And the stories. What about you? History major with a focus on obscure trade? That’s not common.”

The Nerd's Playbook

The Nerd's Playbook

That counts for something, right? My name is Annalise McDermott. And for the record, I am a nerd. A hopeless romantic. A person who believes in love even when it clearly hates me back. This is my playbook, a chronicle of terrible timing, questionable decisions, and the kind of love that shows up when you least expect it, usually right after you've sworn you’re never falling in love again. So here is a little friendly advice: do not follow my advice. At least not until the very end.

Single Cruise

Single Cruise

“We can do that. Nigel will get the books down that you will need to look over. While I make us all some tea. I feel that none of us is going to sleep much tonight.” “I agree with you, Mom. I know I won’t be able to sleep much, if at all. Nigel, on the other hand, will be the first one to sleep out of us, like always.” I said with a laugh Nigel just made a face at me and went to get the books. She came down with four books in her hand. One was for beginners, and they went up from there. So I picked up the one for beginners. To see what it was about, I grabbed a tablet and a pen so I could take some notes. Mom picked up the photo album and started looking through it. Nigel just sat there play

FATED TO THE ALPHA BEAST

FATED TO THE ALPHA BEAST

She told Devon. We both went inside my room. Avery had gone. I gave the book to Nahigra and crossed my hands. "Have you ever read it before?" I asked her. "No," she responded. "I have always heard about it when I was a teenager, but I have never read it before." "But, you said it is popular." "I told you it is a popular book because no one ever had it." Nahigra explained. "What is there that you want me to see?" She asked me.

Whispers of the Heart

Whispers of the Heart

Why'd he have to look so good? I looked down at the books he had given me. There were five total and I realized that I had never read any of these to Nate. I looked at the first one and turned it over, reading the back. A little boy that encounters a giant in the forest. The little boy uses his quick thinking and courage to escape the giant and return to his family. Being back home, he realizes the love and security of his family are all the support and strength that he needs and that knowing his family is there for him, he can face any fears. It seemed to really fit not only the situation tonight but also the bond that Nate and I had so that was the one that I selected.

His Book club

His Book club

Yet here I was, in this room full of people who had chosen me, not because they had to, but because they wanted to. I smiled, a real one this time, and sat at the center of the circle. April clapped her hands together, bubbling in excitement. “Okay, enough of the emotional display. Let’s get to work. Book Club is officially back in session!” Laughter filled the room. We started tossing around ideas for the next reading list, but the discussion quickly turned into a chaotic mess of inside jokes and playful teasing. Maya insisted we include something “dark and brooding,” while Sammy argued for something “funny, because God knows we all need to laugh more.” April rolled her eyes and wrote both

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve come across this question a few times in recovery circles, and it’s a tricky one. The 'Big Book' of Alcoholics Anonymous is a cornerstone text for many people, and its accessibility matters deeply. While AA itself doesn’t officially distribute free PDFs due to copyright, there are ways to find it online if you know where to look. Some unofficial sites or forums might host it, but I always feel a little conflicted about that—AA relies on donations to keep printing physical copies, and there’s something special about holding the book in your hands. That said, if someone’s in urgent need and can’ afford a copy, I’d rather they read it any way they can than go without. The message is what counts.

If you’re curious about alternatives, many AA groups offer free or low-cost physical copies, and some even have loaner programs. There’s also the official AA app, which has a lot of the content available for free, though not the full text. It’s worth checking out local meetings—they often have spare books lying around. At the end of the day, the 'Big Book' isn’t just a book; it’s a lifeline for so many, and I hope anyone who needs it finds a way to access it, whether that’s through a PDF, a borrowed copy, or their own well-worn edition.
