When we moved here, my mother started calling me Flora. I was named after Sequoia trees. She had seen them once on vacation and fell in love with the scent of them. They have a unique earthy scent with an undertone of a crisp pine floral scent, and she wanted to surround herself in it. She nicknamed me Flora, and even registered me in school under the name. She made them aware it was my preferred name, not my real name, but she wanted to shield me from any further issues concerning my name. I love my name.
